WHAT WAS HE THINKING?

Cigarette obsessed Brian De Palma managed to give Oscar winner Hilary Swank a massive career setback when he directed her in The Black Dahlia. Poor Hilary was oddly cast as a 1940’s VAMP and De Palma dolled the boyish actress up in a tawdry black wig and illchosen cocktail dresses that emphasized her athletic – not voluptuous- frame. The embarrassing effect is almost drag-queenish. Luscious Scarlett Johansson fared better – at least she filled out those cashmere sweaters and her hair worked in the 40’s updos. We still love Hilary and hope she got paid a lot for this debacle.

Brian De Palma is a hack. Never cared for his movies.

Hilary Swank is a man in drag regardless of what she wears. She has horse teeth, a horse face and an adam’s apple. She’s so masculine that both John Travolta and Tom Cruise have lusted after her.

Hilary Swank has quite an ample bosom, so I don’t see how that makes her look like a boy…

    I dated a Dahlia in the 80’s.
That movie SHOULD have been GOOD!

Please Janet…spare the love for Hilary. She knew exactly what she was doing when she divulged her ex’s drug habit to VF. She’s only a notch above Paris as far as being white trash.

hmmm…well Janet, in your opinion, of course…and we respect that…cigarettes are true to the 1940’s era and women starting to assert more of their independence and they were considered sexy for the time. Mr. DePalma was correct in the use of this prop for the film.

“The Black Dahlia” should have been titled “Bonfires of the Vanities, Part Duhhh” or “Jackass: No. 2,” with the more scatalogical meaning for “No. 2″

This cute actress has been marketed as the next big thing, thanks to her role on a somewhat popular series, but she’ll have a hard time living up to the hype. What will do her in is not her acting – it’s her secret drug problem. She’s addicted to cocaine (it keeps her thin) and it’s ruining her reputation – she’s late for appointments, moody on the set, and looks worn out. Ironically, she’s often been compared looks-wise to a slightly older beautiful actress with the same problem.

    Whodunit?? Guess who.

  • It happened in 2000: One of Whitney Houston’s alltime favorite movies has always been the tearjerker “Love Story.” She’s hoping to update and remake the move starring herself and her husband Bobby Brown as the doomed couple originally played by Ali MacGraw and Ryan O’Neal. Whitney realizes audiences might have a hard time swallowing Bobby as the wealthy and refined young man so she plans to switch the roles and have the female character from the right side of the tracks. She’s already working on a script and hopes to start filming before the end of the year. (As we all know, it didn’t work out….)

So, what do you think of that?! DO TELL!
