Who's That?

In 2003 a hungry Chicago star Queen Latifah (her real name is Dana Owens) wasn’t in the mood for fans. She and a pal popped into a donut shop in Hollywood near the Kodak Theater and started picking out a dozen chocolate and maple donuts to go. A guy walked up and said “I’m a big fan and I can’t WAIT to see Chicago!” Latifah said “What’re you talking about?” The guy said “aren’t you Queen Latifah?” She said “Oh, Everybody thinks I look like her -and I can’t even stand her music!” She paid for her donuts and her friend said “C’mon Dana” and they walked out!

What will do her in is not her acting – it’s her secret drug problem. She’s addicted to cocaine (it keeps her thin) and it’s ruining her reputation – she’s late for appointments, moody on the set, and looks worn out. Ironically, she’s often been compared looks-wise to a slightly older beautiful actress with the same problem.

  • It happened in 2000: One of Whitney Houston’s alltime favorite movies has always been the tearjerker “Love Story.” She’s hoping to update and remake the move starring herself and her husband Bobby Brown as the doomed couple originally played by Ali MacGraw and Ryan O’Neal. Whitney realizes audiences might have a hard time swallowing Bobby as the wealthy and refined young man so she plans to switch the roles and have the female character from the right side of the tracks. She’s already working on a script and hopes to start filming before the end of the year. (As we all know, it didn’t work out….)
