This cute actress has been marketed as the next big thing, thanks to her role on a somewhat popular series, but she’ll have a hard time living up to the hype. What will do her in is not her acting – it’s her secret drug problem. She’s addicted to cocaine (it keeps her thin) and it’s ruining her reputation – she’s late for appointments, moody on the set, and looks worn out. Ironically, she’s often been compared looks-wise to a slightly older beautiful actress with the same problem.

It happened in 2000: One of Whitney Houston’s alltime favorite movies has always been the tearjerker “Love Story.” She’s hoping to update and remake the move starring herself and her husband Bobby Brown as the doomed couple originally played by Ali MacGraw and Ryan O’Neal. Whitney realizes audiences might have a hard time swallowing Bobby as the wealthy and refined young man so she plans to switch the roles and have the female character from the right side of the tracks. She’s already working on a script and hopes to start filming before the end of the year. (As we all know, it didn’t work out….)
So, what do you think of that?! DO TELL!

I found it rather ironic though that during “Happy Feet” Stevie Wonder was singing “I Wish”: “…when I was a little nappy headed boy.”
Let’s see how happy Chris Rock gets with referring to white people as crackers now. I suppose that will be okay though.

WHITE people have NO business calling YOUNG BLACK GIRLS “Nappy Headed HOES”.
Freedom of speach comes with responsibility.
DUH.
Black people use the word “Nigger” and it’s not right….but it’s “okay”.
Bottom line is WHITE people can NEVER EVER EVER use racist jokes.
That’s just the way it is.
White people have done enough to kick out NATIVE INDIANS, and MEXICANS out of this “Free” country.

Personally, I find all racist/culture jokes to be nothing more than hate hidden behind the guise of “humor”. I don’t care what color or race someone is – people who use
derogatory slang are bigots, pure and simple. And if you excuse any race from that standard then you are giving them a free pass.
Unacceptable.

90% of people avoid confrontation, talk smack behind other peoples back, yet NEVER have the nerve to be direct-WITHOUT being abrasive.
IN reading the comments posted, American’s are simply ignorent.
NO wonder the rest of the world laugh…………yet still want to be like us (JayZ and Aaliyah to Tom Cruise is huge from Paris, Milan, to Shanghai)
WHEN you are concidered a “LEADER” discernment, and WISDOM should be used-and some thoughts are better left unsaid.
FREEDOM in this country should NOT be mocked or abused.
Bottom line-
Using RACIST, IGNORENT, JUDGEMENTAL words on air about YOUNG PEOPLE, or anyone for that matter, is unacceptable.
WILL people continue to be racist and use racial slang-EVEN as a joke?
Of course!
However, being of mixed with several different races myself, and with a very racially diverse family, I find such humor disgusting, and not productive to growing in a society as a whole.
This is a very serious situation, and completely unacceptable.
Had he been on satilite radio, with a smaller audience, I dare say he’d probably have gotten away from it.

You asked about freedom of speech.
Don Imus exercised his freedom of speech and was fired from his job.
Don Imus was not incarcerated nor was he murdered for his making his hateful comments.
It seems to me, Imus’ freedom of speech was not threatened.
If I walked into my job tomorrow morning and told my boss he’s a cheap, chiseling, c*ck-s*cking lowlife, do you think I’d have a job with that organization?
Freedom of speech is not the right to say whatever the hell you want at all times.
You can’t yell fire in a crowded movie theater which in turns causes a stampede that causes death.
Damn! Didn’t YOU PEOPLE take a civics class in your life?
This debate is not about freedom of speech. It is about white racists who are angry that there are repercussions for their hate speech.

People like Imus, Mel Gibson, Michael Richards, etc. can all kiss my white ass with their pathetic whining: “I said it was soorrrrry, what MORE do you people want?”
Spoiled and surrounded by “Yes” people who let them get away with anything at all times–and THEN when they find out EVERYONE else doesn’t think they are “cute” or “funny” they are SHOCKED and immediately go into “whiney” mode. “But, but, but they did it tooooo!”
They’re all a bunch of tools who should be publicly vilified for their highly offensive remarks.
Everyone who said “Freedom of speech” comes with responsibility is right. All actions come with consequences and those whiney little jerks who whine about it should just plan to STFU in the future–or just keep your disgusting little comments among the “yes” people in their lives.

IMUS going to make millions off of this, just you watch!! Look at how Howard Stern parleyed his career on to the Sirrus Network.
The network which fired him is the one who’s going to be in a sling – who are they going to find to replace him ? It will all eventually cost them big bucks in the long run and listener ship. In the days ahead IMUS is going to no doubt Score a position with another network.
If goes to Sirrus he can say anything he likes, so long as the customer is paying to listen to him unlike being broad casted over the airwaves which any child with a cheap radio can tune into.
The censorship argument is unjust and trivial, just listen to Howard on Sirrus.

Though if blacks call their own this, why is it really different of IMUS calling them that “Nappy Headed Hoes”.
Nappy headed isn’t questionable, but “Hoes” is.
IMUS just lowered his IQ to the class of people who say that about their women.
So the next time you hear somebody say that word, how are you going to categorize that person ?
Are they going to be role models, must like how the vast majority of Hip-Hop musicans say this word about women. I think if I were the FCC, I’d start finding these people who are injecting this kind of crap into our society and just dragging us all down to their standard of thinking.
Put some fines on them and their attitudes will change as well… That’s why we have cops giving out tickets to speeders and drunk drivers right?

A very stupid observation on your part.
The Rutger’s basketball team is comprised of women from different backgroundss.
And the point is not whether Imus or anyone harbors nasty hateful feelings about people based on their own set of personal demons, the point is if you make the comment in a public forum you are going to be called out on it.

the term nappy hair isn’t offensive but the context the term is used in determined why people were offended by imus’ comments.
nappy is a term used by some to describe the hair of people who have tightly coiled, curly hair.
nappy can be perceived by some as an offensive term because it is sometimes used in a withering way to indicate this texture of hair is inferior to other textures of hair.
for example his comment from sunseed777 :
“For all intent and purpose when I don’t wash my hair after a few days it does get kinda nappy (oily)”
oily hair isn’t nappy hair.
dirty hair isnt nappy hair.
your comment illustrates why the term nappy is offensive to some.
just too many ignorant people of all ethnicities, including african people, use the term nappy as a synonym for dirty and unkempt.
i hardy think don imus used the term nappy to describe the hair texture of some of the players.
some of the women on the rutger’s basketball team are not black, these women do not appear to have natutrally nappy hair.
imus used the term to indicate the women are ugly and unappealing. he used the term nappy headed with the insulting term “ho” to deepen the insult.

not all black people have nappy hair.

It’s outrageous that Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson have been given the power to dictate what goes out over America’s airwaves. What’s next – what’s written in our newspapers?
I don’t see them taking on the rappers or hip hoppers. Why not? Is it only offensive when a white person says it? I look for a backlash down the road.

As someone who have her Imus time and time again use his platform to bully people by demeaning them and/or denigrating them, it was time to go.
But the media is white washing this episode by not telling the whole truth!!!!!
If Don Imus had stop at the nappy headed ho, he maybe would have gotten away with a suspension but the rest of the conversation by his staff only got worse with calling those girls Jiggaboos and wanna bees for those white girls on the team.
Let us not forget that those girls were 17,18 & 19 year olds who were playing for the honor of their school in the NCAA Basketball champion although they didn’t win that night…it was their time to shine that day.
That idiot took away their accomplishment with his disgusting words throw out to make money for his show and ultimately for his advertisers and he should just STFU and take the consequences.
Like everybody said before, let the market decide well the market decided to pull their money out of his show. And if anybody didn’t know most of those companies either had Black CEO or Women CEO or Both on their boards or Senior management.
Now, Rush Linbergh and the rest of those clowns in the media who think it’s alright to continue to denigrate, demean people might think before they speak, you might just save a job….your own!!!!!
