ELLEN TOPPLES OPRAH IN TV POPULARITY POLL

Oprah Winfrey has tumbled from five years straight of being rated the most popular TV star – down to number 2. She was knocked off her pedestal by none other than Ellen DeGeneres! Publicist Michael Levine pointed out to us that some organization called The Harris Poll has released the following top ten list of popular TV stars:
1 Ellen DeGeneres
2 Oprah
3 Jay Leno
4 Hugh Laurie (House)
5 Jon Stewart (Comedy Central)
6 Dave Letterman tied with Stephen Colbert
8 Bill O’Reilly
9 Ray Romano tied with Homer Simpson
Apparently talk show hosts RULE as far as fame and popularity on TV goes. Tyra Banks must be STEAMING because she didn’t make the list. Ellen was #8 last year – we’re wondering if her meltdown over the Iggy incident gave her a boost. And could Oprah’s political involvement have cooled her fans?

    This poll means very little to tv execs. Ratings folks are the bottom line! Oprah and Dr. Phil are ranked week end and week out numbers 1 and 2 respectivley. Oprah and Dr. Phil shows consistently have double to 2.5 times the viewers that Ellen’s show has. Ellen’s average viewers seem more like they are mindless zombies to me…Most of her fans are “fanatics” even threatening the life of a rescue dog agency because they would not let Ellen have her own way. Also, Ellen is one unnattractive female. She looks more like a male than most men I know. She needs a makeover desperately! By the way I do not dislike or hate gays for I am one myself. So please no remarks Ellen fans telling me how I am a hater or homophobe just because I do not care for her or her tv show.
