The Vintage Fashion Expo at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium is the place to be this weekend. The event always attracts well known designers like Marc Jacobs and Betsey Johnson seeking inspiration, plus plenty of celebrities who love vintage clothing through the decades. Marilyn Manson met his future – now exwife – Dita Von Teese at this show. It’s a great big beautiful room loaded with nostalgia and amazing wearable stuff you’ll never see at a mall. (Hint: Halloween costumes!) You never know who might be ogling vintage watches next to you – could be an Olsen twin or Jason Schwartzman.

Janet you have to stop with these shameless advertisements. I thought you were running a gossip site?

well i thought i had read that ms. charlton herself had sold vintage clothing in the 70s/80s?
i myself worked as a vintage salesman on haight & telegraph in the fab 80s.
    what groovy memories!
i am curious to hear about the santa monica vintage expo.
janet was “gossiping” that the stars might come out for the vintage expo!
some of the posters here are very rude.
i am certainly nostalgic for the hollywood of the 80s, like flip of hollywood, rodney on the roq, the gogos, etc.
i love it when janet talks about rock’n'ralphs, the ramones and ginger coyote, for heavens’ sake!
don’t we really understand the essence of janet charton’s brand to necessarily contain a stream of inside, authentic “vintage” info?
    go ahead, ms. charlton
    rock it out.

This cute actress has been marketed as the next big thing, thanks to her role on a somewhat popular series, but she’ll have a hard time living up to the hype. What will do her in is not her acting – it’s her secret drug problem. She’s addicted to cocaine (it keeps her thin) and it’s ruining her reputation – she’s late for appointments, moody on the set, and looks worn out. Ironically, she’s often been compared looks-wise to a slightly older beautiful actress with the same problem.

    Whodunit?? Guess who.

  • It happened in 2000: One of Whitney Houston’s alltime favorite movies has always been the tearjerker “Love Story.” She’s hoping to update and remake the move starring herself and her husband Bobby Brown as the doomed couple originally played by Ali MacGraw and Ryan O’Neal. Whitney realizes audiences might have a hard time swallowing Bobby as the wealthy and refined young man so she plans to switch the roles and have the female character from the right side of the tracks. She’s already working on a script and hopes to start filming before the end of the year. (As we all know, it didn’t work out….)

So, what do you think of that?! DO TELL!
