Richard Chamberlain and his longtime boyfriend Martin Rabbett were caught in the act of strolling in New York. “The Thorn Birds” heart throb, who came out of the closet in 2003 when he published his biography “Shattered Love,” appeared on “Desperate Housewives” last season. He played Lynette (Felicity Huffman’s) gay stepfather.

   there is still a terrible stigma attached to being homosexual.
   actors who are out do not work as leading men.
   I do not approve of people living in the closet but actors want to work and they will not work if they are open about their sexuality..
   Now that Chamberlian is out he is playing gay roles- that is so typically Hollywood.
   One need not be gay to play a gay character just as one need not be heterosexual to play a heterosexual character!

    Jonesie, Christ didn’t say anything about homosexuality – that bit is separate in the Bible. And I trust you live by Leviticus EXACTLY – slavery, selling your daughters at market, killing unbelievers, death/ damnation for the various sins of eating shellfish, wearing mixed fibre cloth, touching leather, growing 2 diff crops together…..ooh the list goes on and on. You’re not even allowed to approach the altar of god if you have an eye defect, which I guess puts all the glasses and contact lens wearers out in the cold. ‘Cos you can’t pick and choose which you follow – Argue that it’s the literal word of God to be followed exactly and you’ll most likely end up in prison.

    Almighty God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah – everyone knows this. S & G were totally inhabited by faggots. God gave a final warning to them before they were destroyed. They did not give heed and repent and are now in hell. It is exactly the same with any other sins of rebellion (e.g. theft, adultery, cursing, idol worship, etc). Unless one repents from these (same as faggots must) they too will end up in hell. God the Father sent His only Son to die on the cross so that ALL sins may be forgiven.     Personally, even though I don’t think it is morally right to be gay, it is none of my business what two consenting adults do. That is between THEM and God, not me. And I have always adored and loved gorgeous Richard Chamberlain ever since Shogun and of course, The Thorn Birds! The MAN, gay or not, is a magnificent actor. And anyone who has ever seen The Thorn Birds knows darn good and well he can “play straight” quite effectively.

    I have loved Richard Chamberlain since Dr Kildare days, I think I read somehere that he said if he told everyone about his private life it would’nt be private anymore.

    Having seen a photo of Martin and Richard together and as a woman for me a waste of two good looking men. But thats just me still love ya Richard.
