American Idol is a hotbed of gossip since Ellen Degeneres was abruptly hired to replace Paula Abdul. When noteworthy former contestant Constantine Maroulis and Idol judge Kara DioGuardi spotted each other across the catwalk at a New York fashion show, they just HAD to have a chat. Constantine was very curious about Kara’s take on the situation, but Kara seemed far more interested in texting- or is she taking his phone number?

Just when we thought we’d seen more than enough of The Newlywed Game to last a lifetime, we learned that the show is looking for gay celebrity couples to appear on the series! Now THAT sounds like fun! The Newlywed Game, hosted by Carnie Wilson, is on the Game Show Network. They’re taping episodes with celebrity couples and are actively pursing GAY celebrity couples. So far Ellen and Portia have turned them down, but Star Trek’s George Takei and his husband Brad Altman agreed to play the game.

Here’s a creepy story. The guy above is John Ferguson, 23, and apparently he was inspired by “Weekend at Bernie’s” when his 19 year old buddy died of an apparent drug overdose in South Carolina. He drove around town for hours with the corpse propped up next to him in his car. He visited several friends and while his car was parked outside someone’s house, an observer called police. Before they arrived, Ferguson drove to his grandfather’s house and called the authorities from there. What was he thinking?

We feel terrible about Jessica Simpson’s adorable dog Daisy being snatched by a coyote. Of all the not-so-great things that have happened to her lately, this is certainly the worst. Maybe this tragic loss will remind other people who live in areas where coyotes roam (especially in or near the hills) to NEVER allow their animals outside where coyotes can strike. Vigilance is essential at all times. Hungry coyotes are leaving the hills to hunt for food and can appear very suddenly – wealthy, gated communities notwithstanding.
