Tokio Hotel, of course. Underage girls jammed the street and had to be fenced in outside the Best Buy store in NYC yesterday. The band was signing their CD “Humanoid.” Next week they’re coming to LA to sign CD’s at – of all places – “Hot Topic” in Universal City. Not a cool choice of venues, but they ARE from Germany, after all.

This cute actress has been marketed as the next big thing, thanks to her role on a somewhat popular series, but she’ll have a hard time living up to the hype. What will do her in is not her acting – it’s her secret drug problem. She’s addicted to cocaine (it keeps her thin) and it’s ruining her reputation – she’s late for appointments, moody on the set, and looks worn out. Ironically, she’s often been compared looks-wise to a slightly older beautiful actress with the same problem.

It happened in 2000: One of Whitney Houston’s alltime favorite movies has always been the tearjerker “Love Story.” She’s hoping to update and remake the move starring herself and her husband Bobby Brown as the doomed couple originally played by Ali MacGraw and Ryan O’Neal. Whitney realizes audiences might have a hard time swallowing Bobby as the wealthy and refined young man so she plans to switch the roles and have the female character from the right side of the tracks. She’s already working on a script and hopes to start filming before the end of the year. (As we all know, it didn’t work out….)

They made the rounds at Hot Topic during their first trip the the US last year. Since their fans are young and “hip” it makes sense.
Hot Topic is a store specializing in “pop culture”. It’s isn’t good or bad.
I’m glad Janet has taken notice of Tokio Hotel. Maybe they’ll last maybe they won’t. It’s nothing to get worked up over.
I personally feel they’ll become like Morrissey in terms of popularity where he isn’t mainstream, but he performs sold out shows because the fans he does have are very loyal.
