GEORGE LOPEZ’S TEMPER HAS STAFFERS RUNNING SCARED

We never realized that George Lopez had an explosive temper – maybe his talk show, “Lopez Tonight” on TBS, is jangling his nerves. A source told us that recently he’s been horrifying his staffers with his outbursts of temper in FRONT of the audience. Losing it backstage is one thing, but doing it in front of fans is never a good idea. We hear that producers are afraid to remind George to please hold up a guest’s CD or book because he snarls “DON’T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!” He explodes at people so easily that staffers are scared – they’re tip-toeing around on eggshells, afraid to set him off. Has anyone out there experienced George’s temper?

SUDDENLY SHY, OCTOMOM DUCKS PAPARAZZI

Octomom Nadya Suleman arrived at LAX back from New York where she revealed her maniacal laugh on “The View,” – with more bags than she has children. For some reason, this woman who courts publicity decided to be coy and cover her head with a scarf to avoid photographers. Other travelers looked on in amusement.

This is exactly what drives us nuts at flea markets, farmer’s markets, and other crowded public places. Strollers are annoying and inconvenient enough, but DOUBLE strollers are unforgivable. A one kid limit would be fine with us. Jason Priestley and his wife Naomi appear to be having a good time with little Ava and Dashiell in spite of the irritated glances as the family takes up more than their share of space. It’s a good thing they’re cute.

Now HERE’S a charity song you can sink your teeth into. Our insightful colleague Lisa Derrick at The Huffington Post obviously has a thing for Shane MacGowan like we do. She revealed that Shane gathered up some buddies including Johnny Depp, Nick Cave, and Chrissie Hynde, to record a new version of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins’ classic “I Put a Spell on You” to raise money for Haiti. It’s cool to see Shane and Johnny together again and the song is a lot less sappy than most fundraising songs – give it a listen. (By the way, what happened to Shane’s “new” teeth?)

Vince Vaughn and his guy friends cheered on the USA hockey team vs Finland at the Winter Olympics semi finals in Vancouver. USA beat the opponents 6 to 1 while he and his buddies munched on hot dogs, french fries, and beer. Despite the fact that he’s 6’5,” Vince has a tendency to pack on pounds, and if he doesn’t watch out he’ll eat his way out of leading man roles. (Remember how adorable he was in “Swingers?”) This spring, he starts filming “Your Cheating Heart” in Chicago with Kevin James. In the movie, Vince’s character discovers his best friend’s wife is cheating, and he can’t decide whether to tell him or not.

After 11 years of wedded bliss, Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin are going to take a chance and turn their lives into a reality show. Their newly minted series, called “Harry Loves Lisa” has been picked up by TV Land and will air in the fall. Their daughters Amelia and Delilah will be featured in the family “docudrama” and most likely Lisa’s store Belle Gray will be part of the action. Funny, it doesn’t look like the girls inherited the family lips.

Kevin Federline DID learn something on Celebrity Fit Club. This is the first time he’s been seen reading a food label. Kevin and his girlfriend Victoria Prince stocked up on healthy vegetables and fruit at the supermarket and Kevin checked the calorie count on a prepared salad before he bought it. It’s hard to tell Kevin’s present weight because he’s still wearing those Kevin Smith style giant t- shirts and extra wide shorts. Ironically, he smoked on the way into the market and on the way out.

Snooki, Sammi, Vinny, and the rest of the Jersey Shore gang are back in Los Angeles, but so far only ONE of them can brag that a doll is being made in their image. Snooki, considered the break-out star of the group, will be immortalized with her own lookalike doll. She’s absolutely thrilled and the doll will have her signature look – heavy eye make up, a leopard print dress, and of course, the pouf hair. The Jersey doll is being rushed into stores while it’s still hot.

PARIS HILTON AND DOUG REINHARDT WON’T DO IT WITHOUT CAMERAS

Before she celebrated her 29th birthday last weekend, Paris Hilton was dropping hints like mad that she wanted an engagement ring from her boyfriend Doug Reinhardt. (Although Doug, from The Hills, doesn’t seem like much of a catch – Paris always wanted to marry a billionaire) Paris probably WILL get that ring before she turns 30 because our illustrious colleague in Las Vegas, Norm Clarke, has heard that she is shopping around a reality show that will feature their wedding preparations and ceremony. (Above, Paris had lunch at the Ivy today in her pinafore dress.)
