THE JOLIE-PITTS HAVE YET ANOTHER PLACE TO CALL HOME

Time to ponder how the other half lives again. Brad and Angelina have reportedly purchased a villa in the hills of Northern Italy for around 40 million dollars. The U-shaped mansion has 18,000 sq ft and many of the walls are covered with 17th century frescoes. There are 15 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, 2 pools, a vineyard and waterfalls. Plenty of room for an expanding family. This makes their sixth home in various countries in the world. As it stands, each of their children could inherit their own house. The Pitt-Jolie family is very generous to the less fortunate, but they don’t deny themselves much, either.

"The Defenders" Jim Belushi Kids Patrol car

JIM BELUSHI TREATS KIDS TO A RIDE IN A BLACK AND WHITE COP CAR

Jim Belushi has never minded being the center of attention. He took his kids to play ball at a park in Brentwood and they arrived driving a black and white police patrol car! Immediately all the dads and their kids came running over for a close look at the cruiser. Belushi, who has a new series, “The Defenders,” with Jerry O’Connell, probably borrowed the car from the studio. He took delight in demonstrating the siren and the lights and invited all the kids to take turns sitting in the cruiser.

‘INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS” STAR KEVIN MCCARTHY HAS DIED AT 96

We must note the passing of Kevin McCarthy who, in 1956, starred in one of the most memorable science fiction movies of all time – “Invasion of the Body Snatchers.” Remakes of this cult classic were attempted but they never matched up to the frightening original. McCarthy played the doctor who tried to warn the population about the alien “pod people” taking over the world. McCarthy always dismissed notions that the movie was an allegory about creeping communism or political issues – he insisted it was simply about “conforming.” Happily, he delighted in the fame the low budget film brought him. McCarthy died at 96 and enjoyed a career of 70 years. We got a kick out of seeing him at autograph shows until quite recently

Joe Manganiello MTV Video Music Awards True Blood

JOE MANGANIELLO WILL DO, IF ROB PATTINSON’S NOT AROUND

We were watching the VMA’s on TV last night while working at the computer when suddenly – whoa- this drop dead gorgeous slightly rough looking guy appeared onscreen and we couldn’t figure out where he came from. Definitely not Jersey Shore. A little research revealed he is Joe Manganiello from True Blood, a show we’ve never seen because we have no interest in Vampires. Has Joe always looked like this? Why didn’t we notice him before? It WAS a nice surprise – and consoling, since Robert Pattinson did NOT grace the VMA’s this year.
