Nice to see that Dwayne Johnson, 41, can laugh at himself. He posted this highly entertaining photo of him as a young man in the 90’s online and we barely recognized him. He captioned it “Fanny pack and lean take it to a whole other level” – he compared himself to a “buff lesbian.” Yikes- the mom jeans and fanny pack, not to mention the necklace and hairdo, indicate how FAR The Rock has come since then – now he’s HERCULES!
Another reason to love Britney Spears. She and her boyfriend David Lucado had lunch, not at The Ivy, but at The Cheesecake Factory in Thousand Oaks this week. According to TMZ they ordered an appetizer and a salad and accidentally walked out without paying the $30 tab. Brit thought her bodyguard picked up the check, and vice versa. She was very apologetic, but the funny part is, Britney took home her leftover salad in a doggie bag. This girl is a millionaire MANY times over and she still eats at chain restaurants and takes home doggie bags! Old habits die hard.

Meg Ryan looks a bit thin and stressed, but also happy in New York. She’s in the final preparations to start filming the first movie she’s ever directed – “Ithaca” – on location in Virginia. Based on a novel by William Saroyan, it’s about life in a small California town during WWII and centers on a 14 year old telegram delivery boy and his family. Meg’s friend Tom Hanks is producing and has a role in the film so she REALLY wants to do a good job. Meg’s son Jack Quaid also has a part in the film. Melanie Griffith was originally set to costar but it looks like she dropped out and Meg will replace her.

We love that Katie Holmes is so unfussy on the set of the movie she’s filming in LA with Ryan Reynolds and Helen Mirren called “Woman in Gold.” During lunch break she just got in line, while still in costume, for craft service food with the rest of the crew and cast. She COULD have disappeared into her gigantic oversize Winnebago (if she had one) and had organic food delivered from an expensive restaurant, but that’s not Katie’s style. It’s nice to see that marrying Hollywood legend Tom Cruise didn’t change her.
