EJ JOHNSON: THIS APPLE FELL VERY FAR FROM THE TREE!

Magic Johnson’s openly gay son EJ Johnson, 21, is making quite a name for himself. He’s 6’2” and has no interest in sports! Ever since he turned up with his handbag on TMZ, cameras have followed him. He quickly landed a role on E!’s “Rich Kids of Beverly Hills” and fashion opportunities keep popping up. Hopefully his success won’t interfere with his education – he’s a senior at NYU studying event management and business. A friend of ours is obsessed with him because “he dresses like a woman, but doesn’t try to BE one.” He truly is a one of a kind character – and surprisingly likeable.

Dave Davies The Kinks

TWO OLDIES BUT GOODIES: THE KINKS’ DAVE DAVIES AND JOE DALLESANDRO

LOVE this photo! Back in the sixties, both Dave Davies of The Kinks and Andy Warhol actor Joe Dallesandro were both Bad Boys, but they never met until recently. Dave recalls meeting Andy Warhol when The Kinks played in New York, but he and Joe don’t remember being introduced.(By the way, Dave says that contrary to popular belief, the Kinks song “Lola” was NOT written about Candy Darling!) Friends brought them together recently in Los Angeles where Dave is recording a solo album due out in the fall. That doesn’t bode well for a Kinks reunion tour- but we still have our fingers crossed!

Photoshop is certainly the miracle of the decade. Only photoshop could make Madonna, 55, and Katy Perry, 29, look the SAME AGE in this Steven Klein shot for V Magazine. Arianne Phillips did a brilliant job on the 1940’s naughty pinup styling. We especially love the runs in Madonna’s silky black stocking. Madonna often uses a cigarette to give herself a harder edge.

Gay Rumors Scientology Tom Cruise

FOR THE LAST TIME, TOM CRUISE IS NOT GAY!

July is a slow month for gossip, and The National Enquirer knows that stories implying that Tom Cruise is gay sell lots of magazines, so they revisit the subject as often as possible. This time around they’re grasping at straws by quoting The New York Times. The newspaper reviewed a book called “The Actress” and surmised that a main character – a closeted gay actor – was based on Tom Cruise. Naturally, they assume that Tom is upset over the whole thing. Indeed, Tom has always taken legal action against gay accusations and won. The fact is HE IS NOT GAY! (Not that there’s anything wrong with that.) Yes, he’s a Scientologist and he’s had three unsuccessful marriages, but there has never been a scrap of genuine evidence that he is gay. He’s a decent guy, a little uncomfortable with women, and sometimes socially awkward, but he is straight. Isn’t picking on him for being a Scientologist ENOUGH?
