Engaged Joaquin Phoenix

JOAQUIN PHOENIX IS QUITE A CATCH

The irrepressible Joaquin Phoenix, 40, announced to David Letterman that he is now engaged to his yoga instructor. He declared “I think she’s The One!” On the plus side, Joaquin is vegan and doesn’t wear leather – that might appeal to a yoga girl. But he does have a history of eccentric behavior, substance abuse, and he’s an ardent SMOKER. Can she live with his idiosyncrasies? She might be the best thing that ever happened to him…
Update: Joaquin admitted he made up the fishy story because he has “a boring life.”

JENNIFER ANISTON: WHO WANTS TO PAY FOR A DEPRESSING MOVIE?

Jennifer Aniston is thrilled beyond words because she finally got to play a serious character in a movie that is NOT a romantic comedy. And she does it without makeup or hair extensions. But she may be one of the few fans of the movie “Cake,” set to be released in January. Her character Claire has suffered an unbearable loss and been left in constant pain. Her perfect life (she and her husband were successful lawyers with a gorgeous home) is disintegrating. She’s addicted to pain pills and bitterness. Miserable Claire is difficult to relate to, and usually Jennifer is very relatable. Perhaps it’s due to the fact that the script was written by man. Claire is painful to be around and painful to watch. While Jennifer is believable, the movie’s unpleasant subject matter is not appealing, and we’ll be surprised if it attracts much of an audience.

Height Challenged Mary Kate Olsen Olivier Sarkozy

MARY KATE OLSEN’S FIANCEE LOOKS LIKE HER DAD

We knew the Olsen twins were tiny, but this photo makes Mary-Kate, 28, look almost freakishly miniscule! She’s wearing heels and is barely taller than that normal sized man’s elbow. By the way, that towering man happens to be her fiancée Olivier Sarkozy, 45, who may or may not already be her husband. (They have matching gold bands.) Mary-Kate was doing a little shopping on the fancy side of West Hollywood where her Row store is located. She was spotted by paparazzi and tried to hide her face – or maybe her ring.

BLUE IVY HAS A RED CARPET FUTURE

Jay Z and Beyonce brought their little girl Blue Ivy to her first premier – “Annie” – in New York, and she’s only 2! No doubt there are many red carpet events in her future. Ivy looks more like a female version of her father every day – she’s even got daddy’s eyebrows!
