MEN COME AND GO, BUT MELANIE GRIFFITH AND EVA LONGORIA ARE STILL THERE FOR EACH OTHER

Melanie Griffith has a New York moment when she turns up at Catch for dinner carrying a big shopping bag from Maxfield. She and longtime girlfriend Eva Longoria shopped before they dined. The two women have been friends for years, through thick and thin. Eva and her boyfriends used to join Melanie and Antonio Banderas on vacations together. Eva was there for Mel when she divorced Antonio, and Melanie was at Eva’s wedding to Jose Baston in Mexico last May.

Pamela Anderson’s son (with Tommy Lee) looks like he fancies himself to be quite a playboy in this photo. (Maybe it’s the unbuttoned shirt or white shoes with no socks – or maybe the laptop!) Brandon Lee, 20, is a Dolce & Gabbana model, so naturally he showed up at the D&G party in Beverly Hills. Ironically, he was working as a lifeguard at a beach restaurant before he got into modeling. He’s with his model girlfriend Raina Lawson, 22, – they’ve been together for over a year. Brandon is doing okay as a model, but he really hopes it will lead to acting jobs.

WHAT IF EMMA THOMPSON HAD SAID “YES” TO DONALD TRUMP?

Only in America can you learn about how your future president used to try to pick up women when he was single! Back in 1998 when Donald Trump had split with Marla Maples and had not yet met Melania, he was trying to hook up by phone. Talkative actress Emma Thompson told this story to a European magazine: She received a call out of the blue in her trailer on the set where she was filming Primary Colors. “Hi – it’s Donald Trump here- I just, you know, wondered if I could offer you some accommodation in one of my Trump Towers- they’re really comfortable.” He continued “I think we could get along very well- maybe we could have dinner some time!” Surprised Emma politely and diplomatically declined, but wishes she had taken him up on the offer. “Think of the STORIES!” (Frankly, we are surprised by Donald’s attraction to a smart and entertaining woman like Emma.)

Former Desperate Housewife Teri Hatcher just looks SO happy having a father-daughter day touring Paris with her father Owen Hatcher. They visited several landmarks – a museum, the Palais Royal Gardens and Notre Dame, and they walked the Parisian streets, stopping for a pick–me-up at a patisserie. Owen is a retired nuclear physicist and Teri has been in Vancouver filming her new series Supergirl, in which she plays a villain. Teri’s parents moved from their northern California home to be closer to Teri and her daughter Emerson.

Melanie Brown has been estranged from her family and most friends since she wed Stephen “Belafonte” nine years ago. Does she know how many EX-WIVES and GIRLFRIENDS have charged him with assault and battery? He’s lived in four apartments in LA and the con artist was EVICTED from each one for not paying rent. He was 86’d from Skybar for some sort of credit card “problem.” He served time in jail for trying to alter his computer police records. In 1997, he was married for three months until his wife charged him with battery. In the past he has tried to pass himself off as Dionne Warwick’s nephew and Harry Belafonte’s son. Need we say more?

Efren Ramirez, who played Pedro in the 2004 cult classic Napolean Dynamite, chatted with fans at the premier of Chips in Hollywood. Not long ago Pedro and his Dynamite costar Jon Heder reunited for a Burger King ad appropriately introducing a new menu item, Cheesy Tots. It’s rumored that Efren sued his twin brother Carlos for impersonating him at public appearances a few years ago. Apparently there was a girl he wanted to impress. Last we heard the twins were still on the outs. Besides acting, Efren is also working as a DJ internationally.

MEGAN FOX IS BRINGING BACK FREDERICK’S OF HOLLYWOOD!

How delightful to hear that Megan Fox is the new face of the vintage lingerie brand Fredrick’s of Hollywood! Frederick’s store opened on Hollywood Boulevard in the late 40’s and became a huge success and tourist attraction. They sold ultra naughty Bettie Page style lingerie and clothing, and made a fortune in mail order through catalogs (which were in great demand) and ads in the back pages movie magazines. They even had a celebrity bra museum! We loved visiting the store in the 80’s – they were the first to offer butt and hip pads and bondage stilettos. Now they’re making a comeback with Megan – above with her adorable four year old son Noah.

Paula Patton has one of the best smiles in Hollywood. She arrived at the Vancouver airport where fans begged her for selfies and she good-naturedly cooperated. She doesn’t let her custody drama with her ex-husband Robin Thicke spoil her good mood. During their 9 year marriage, Robin cheated (his father set a horrendous example) and when she finally had enough and divorced him, he immediately jumped into another relationship with a 21 year old girl. That can be painful. Fortunately Paula is keeping busy- she’s starring in a new ABC series, Somewhere Between, that will air this summer.

BEN AFFLECK SHOWS HIS TEETH – AND THAT’S A GOOD THING!

It’s been awhile since we’ve seen Ben Affleck smile – especially in the presence of paparazzi. He took his kids (who seem SO happy to have him back from rehab) to church on Sunday. Usually their mom, Jennifer Garner, makes sure they don’t miss Sunday services. The Affleck kids are lucky that their estranged mother and father make such a genuine effort to co-parent in spite of their differences. Ben was in such a good mood that he chatted and joked with the paparazzi that he usually scowls at.
