MARIAH CAREY KNOWS HOW TO WHIP UP PUBLICITY FOR HERSELF

Just when everyone (except us) was starting to believe that Mariah Carey and her ex-husband Nick Cannon were drifting back together, she took her young ex-boyfriend Bryan Tanaka out to dinner at Nobu. Mariah and Nick have been seen out with their kids a lot lately and observers jumped to conclusions. She enjoys publicity and being linked with TWO guys at once is very appealing to her. As usual, she’s a bit overdressed for the laid back Malibu restaurant, but we love the guy she has carrying her handbag.

Cannes Film Festival Roman Polanski Underwear

ROMAN POLANSKI IN HIS UNDERPANTS

Roman Polanski may be 83, but that doesn’t stop him from sunbathing at the Eden Roc Hotel in Cannes in his underwear. The Film Festival is as close as Polanski can get to Hollywood – he’s been unable to return to the US since he was arrested for sexually assaulting a 13 year old girl in 1977. (And he’s NOT happy about it.) At that time he fled to France to avoid prison time but he had no idea he’s never be able to return because he figured, as a successful filmmaker, he was above the law. He still avoids countries likely to extradite him to the US. No great loss for us – his best work was Rosemary’s Baby in 1968.

LISA RINNA WON’T LET THE EVIL EYE GET IN THE WAY OF HER SHOPPING

Barneys just announced their 50% off sale and apparently Lisa Rinna scooted straight from the gym to the store. Can’t help but notice she’s wearing the red Kabbalah string that Madonna popularized around ten years ago. The string is supposed to keep the wearer safe from evil eyes or “looks of envy.” There’s plenty of envy going on at Barneys, but we’d rather have a string that protected us from impulsive purchases…

MICHAEL BAY BROUGHT HIS DOG TO HIS WALK OF FAME CEREMONY BECAUSE HIS LEADING LADIES DESPISE HIM!

Usually when a director gets a star on the Walk of Fame, the actors he turned into stars come to say nice things about him. A few guys turned up, but none of his leading ladies support the lascivious director Michael Bay, dubbed “The Donald Trump of Cinema.” The Pearl Harbor director, 52, buddies up to his macho male stars, but he’s known to be a boorish jerk who objectifies women. Remember when he said he hired Kate Beckinsale for Pearl Harbor because she wasn’t “too beautiful” – he thinks women watching movies get jealous if the female star is too beautiful! Needless to say, his leading ladies including Kate Beckinsale, Scarlett Johansson, and Megan Fox, were no-show at the ceremony and we love them for that.

Adam Sandler Cannes Film Festival Fashion

ADAM SANDLER IS SUDDENLY DRESSING AGE APPROPRIATE!

At last! Adam Sandler is dressed like a MAN! Long pants! No baseball cap! Maybe it’s because he’s in a movie at the Cannes Film Festival or maybe he’s actually growing up – whatever the reason, it’s a welcome change (in spite of the mustache.) Adam and Ben Stiller are playing Dustin Hoffman’s sons in The Meyerowitz Stories – a comedy drama about an estranged family that gets back together. Fortunately, Adam had nothing to do with the writing and the movie is already getting positive buzz at the festival.

Beard Girlfriend Jim Carrey

JIM CARREY’S BEARD IS NOT FAKE, BUT SOMETHING IS….

First of all, how does a 55 year old man manage to have a long white beard and not a grey hair on his head? We hardly recognized Jim Carrey and maybe he wants it that way. The last few years have not been great for him. Not long ago he was heartily criticized by the medical profession for advising parents NOT to vaccinate their children. In 2015, his Irish makeup artist girlfriend died of a drug overdose and her family sued Carrey for supplying her with the illegal painkillers she used to kill herself. Other sordid accusations followed, some involving sexually transmitted diseases. Coincidentally or not, he plays a serious not-funny character in his next movie – a crime thriller called True Crimes.

WOW! SALMA HAYEK HAS PINK HAIR – AND LOOKS FABULOUS!

Salma Hayek, 50, doesn’t always get it right when she dresses up, but she hit the target on this one. Salma turned up at the Women in Motion Awards dinner in Cannes with this lovely dress and pink tinted hair! She looks surprisingly old-Hollywood glamorous and this is not an easy look to pull off. Her husband Francois-Henri Pinault must be very amused. Close observers say this is a wig but it certainly looks good from here….

PAMMY’S GOT A WHOLE NEW LOOK!

Meanwhile, back at the Cannes Film Festival – Pamela Anderson turned heads by looking SLEEK for a change! For once, it’s not all about the blonde hair and heavy eyelashes! She looks fresh and pretty – Pam never ceases to amaze us. With her hair slicked back and very little makeup, Pam looks like a different person. Her rumored boyfriend Julian Assange would love to see her like this. Among other things, Pam and Julian both love animals. Pam won’t confirm the romance but admits coyly “Everyone deserves love.”

BEBE REXHA IS NOW CENTER STAGE

If this costume is any indication, Brooklyn-born Bebe Rexha, 27, must put on quite a show. It’s a creative look for an active stage performance. Bebe’s been producing and writing songs (and doing guest vocals) for the likes of Eminem, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Selena Gomez and Iggy Azalea. Now she’s upfront and on her own, performing in London on her All Your Fault World Tour.

Cannes Film Festival Fashion Rihanna

RIHANNA KNOCKS ‘EM DEAD IN CANNES

The Cannes Film Festival appears to have become more of a 12 day fashion festival than anything else. What everyone WEARS is more thoroughly discussed than the movies! The red carpet is littered with tall models in impossibly extravagant gowns promoting designers – they are overshadowing the actresses promoting their movies. Opulent dresses like Rihanna is successfully displaying are nice to look at – but we’d love to see fabulous day and street clothing. How many women ever have the opportunity to wear an evening gown like that?
