Kids Reality Shows The Lowe Files

ROB LOWE’S SONS DON’T REALLY NEED JOBS ON TV

Rob Lowe is enjoying spending quality time and bonding with his two sons, Matthew, 23, and John, 21, while filming their new A&E reality adventure series The Lowe Files. (An unscripted take-off on The X-Files?) Supposedly, they will investigate “strange phenomenon and local legends” across the USA. Both boys are in college (studying law and technology science) and we wonder if they can keep a straight face during these “supernatural” situations. The Lowes will be talking to scientists and experts along the way. Sounds a little hokey, but we’ll give it a look…

Cara Delevingne Luc Besson Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets

CARA DELEVINGNE: IS LOOKING GOOD REALLY ENOUGH?

The usually moody Cara Delevingne is doing her best to promote her new movie Valerian and The City of a Thousand Planets – she even cracks a smile once in awhile. But we remain in a quandary- we are HUGE fans of director Luc Busson, and we ADORED The Fifth Element, as well as Lucy and The Professional. (They all happened to have great female characters.) If we come across The Fifth Element on TV we cannot change the channel. We were excited to see Valerian UNTIL we learned it is based on a COMIC BOOK. Maybe that’s why the title makes no sense. Critics say great visuals – no story. Is that enough?

Halle Berry Kidnap

HALLE BERRY COULDN’T LOOK BAD IF SHE TRIED

Looking adorable has always been easy for Halle Berry– she appeared at Comic-Con this weekend talking up her new movie Kidnap in her military green romper. (It’s difficult to believe she’s 50 years old!) Women love “Halle Berry in peril” films so we figure the movie will do okay. At Comic-Con Halle guzzled what she claimed was a whole glass of whiskey to prove she is NOT pregnant, as rumored. She looks happy-go-lucky lately so we assume she is between “man problems.”

CHRISTINA AGUILERA: THEY SAID IT WOULDN’T LAST

Christina Aguilera, 36, and Matthew Rutler, 32, have defied all expectations and predictions by staying together and appearing to be happy! They met in 2010 when Christina filmed Burlesque with Cher and Matt was a PA on the movie. Christina and her husband had just split up and she made the first move. Matt looked very young and everyone assumed he was just a fling. But we hear he’s a REALLY nice guy and got along well with Christina’s son Max, 9. They moved in together and had a daughter (Summer, 3) and we’re guessing Matt became a househusband because he gave up his Hollywood behind the scenes career. Christina and Matt have been engaged since 2014 and seem in no hurry to make it legal.

2 Chainz Rap Worst Dressed

WORST DRESSED THIS WEEK: RAPPER 2 CHAINZ

Celine Dion isn’t the only one making style mistakes – rappers can be fashion victims as well. Rapper 2 Chainz (real name Tauheed Epps) is 6’5” so there’s more of him to observe. He’s 39 and looks a bit clownish in this patterned leisure suit and Gucci head band – although we kind of like the sunglasses. It so happens this rapper is smarter than he looks – he graduated from Alabama State with a basketball scholarship.

Catherine Deneuve Movies The Midwife

CATHERINE DENEUVE SCORES AGAIN IN THE MIDWIFE

Anyone exhausted by the proliferation of summer action movies will probably enjoy the tranquility and social observations in the French movie The Midwife. It’s the story of two very opposite women thrown together by circumstances, who learn to appreciate one another. (Stories about women are always more introspective than those about men.) What a delight to see Catherine Deneuve as the free spirited self-indulgent ex-wife of Catherine Frot’s conservative character’s late father. We recall bumping into Catherine Deneuve a few years ago at the flea market in Hollywood. To say we were SHOCKED is an understatement. She looked beautiful (that skin!) and was happy and friendly as she browsed for amusing items to take back to friends in France. This wonderful film is not for those addicted to speed, but a treat for anyone interested in human behavior.

LIEV SCHREIBER ISN’T TOO TOUGH FOR COMIC-CON

Ray Donovan tough guy Liev Schreiber, 49, isn’t too busy to take his sons to Comic-con in San Diego. Both boys were dressed in costume as their favorite comic characters and the youngest, Sam, prettied himself up as DC Comics’ Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad. She’s a fictional supervillain with loads of style and Harley happens to be the most popular female character in comics these days. Margot Robbie played her in Suicide Squad.

Brooklyn Beckham Madison Beer New Couples

BROOKLYN BECKHAM AND MADISON BEER SHOPPED AT BARNEYS TOO

Not more than an hour ago we were standing at the counter at Barneys on the third floor waiting to pay when we noticed that Brooklyn Beckham and an extremely pretty girl with dark hair were standing next to us. The brunette had picked something out and Brooklyn obviously approved. She was lively and animated and seemed delighted with her purchase. (Don’t know WHO paid!) Brooklyn, 18, was polite and sweet – not like a smart aleck. He carried her bag out. Later we identified the girl as YouTube singer Madison Beer, also 18, who was discovered by Justin Bieber. They’ve only been seeing each other for a week or so, but it’s apparent that Madison will be a handful.

Auction Ex-boyfriend Madonna Panties

SINCE WHEN DOES MADONNA CARE ABOUT HER OLD PANTIES?

There’s nothing Madonna enjoys more than SHOCKING ordinary people, so we were surprised when she put up a fuss over an ex-boyfriend auctioning off a pair of panties she gave him in 1994. The guy, Peter Shue, says Madonna sent him the panties with a love note before she left town one day and their relationship fizzled not long after that. Shue is trying to drum up interest in a book he wrote about his life (above) so he’s enjoying the fuss and challenged Madonna to buy the panties herself. What’s funny is how much BETTER Madonna has aged than her ex-boyfriend! – Click HERE to see him now.

Dunkirk Harry Styles Movies Tom Hardy

DUNKIRK WARNING: TOM HARDY’S FACE IS COVERED THROUGH THE ENTIRE MOVIE!

Let’s be honest – Dunkirk is a movie made BY men, ABOUT men, FOR men. (There’s nary a female onscreen except for a nurse who died immediately) If you like to watch men fighting and torturing each other nonstop – this is your ticket. Director Christopher Nolan apparently realized that he needed a little something to attract a female audience so he included Harry Styles for the young ones and Tom Hardy for adult women. Unfortunately Nolan put Hardy in a plane, wearing a full helmet and face/gas mask for his ENTIRE performance (what a waste!) so we got no satisfaction. We never got to know and feel for the characters, who appeared and died abruptly, – no backstories, no connections, no sentiment. In spite of all that, it was a well-made film with a haunting soundtrack. Just know what to expect before you buy a ticket.
