DOLPH LUNDGREN: TOO BIG FOR HIS COBRA?

Dolph Lundgren attracted a lot of admiring glances when he left The Palm restaurant in Beverly Hills with a buddy. Phones came whipping out when Dolph hopped into his Shelby Cobra painted a delicious bright red. (If we never saw another grey car again, we’d be happy.) Since we know next to nothing about cars, we checked eBay and found a similar 1965 Cobra for sale for $120,000 or “best offer.” Why large men love tiny cars is a mystery, but it appears that Dolph could not fit his head in if the car had a convertible top!

THE POWER OF RHODA

So sad to say goodbye to Valerie Harper. We remember when she was riding high with her series Rhoda – single women everywhere identified with her New York working girl. We remember being in New York one day in the 70’s shopping as usual in the early evening. We walked into a store and suddenly realized it was nearly empty – and the streets looked almost deserted too! Puzzled, we found someone to ask “What’s going on? – where IS everybody?” We were told that Rhoda was getting married to Joe that night and everyone was home watching. No kidding. THAT’S how beloved Valerie’s Rhoda Morganstern character was!

Ad Astra Brad Pitt Movies Redemption

BRAD PITT HAS REDEEMED HIMSELF!

Brad Pitt looks truly grateful and happy at the premier of his new astronaut film Ad Astra at the Venice Film Festival, where he’s the toast of the town. Brad got great reviews for the film and his role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood already has Oscar buzz. After a few years of being humiliated by his nasty divorce, he has quietly worked his way back into the hearts of Hollywood. Meanwhile his ex Angelina Jolie continues to be photographed EVERYWHERE with her kids – from Petco to South Korea where she dropped off Maddox at school.

Adam Driver Laura Dern Marriage Story Scarlett Johansson

“MARRIAGE STORY”- THE FUNNY AND NOT-SO-FUNNY SIDES OF DIVORCE

We took one look at this photo from the Venice Film Festival and immediately we wanted to see the movie these people are promoting. Don’t know why, but suddenly a film starring Adam Driver, Laura Dern, and Scarlett Johansson, seems very appealing – especially after a summer of mindless action movies. They’re starring in Noah Baumbach’s Marriage Story – a funny drama about a west coast-east coast divorce. (Possibly similar to one Noah recently survived) Adam and Scarlett are the splitting couple, and Laura plays a ruthless lawyer. Reviews have been amazing, so we’re eagerly anticipating the November release.

SOFIA RICHIE: OUTGROWING HER ROMANCE?

Sofia Richie is among a group of pretty young models apparently hired to liven up the red carpets at the Venice Film Festival – and she has never looked better. The models wear designer clothing available for purchase. She just turned 21 and now we’re starting to wonder if her 15 years older boyfriend Scott Disick is going to be able to hold on to Sofia. When Scott and Sofia started dating she was just a teen, and quite impressed by him. Since then, she’s been doing a lot of growing up. Now that she’s socializing and working without Scott always at her side, she might not want to be tied down with an older man….

This is what a rock star should look like. Ageless heartthrob Lenny Kravitz is 55 now, and throughout his long career he has continued to be a fashion icon in the music business. Sometimes he spins off on a delicious Jimi Hendrix tangent (feathers?) but he retains great personal style (lotsa denim) and remains refreshingly unlabeled – with rarely a designer logo peeking out. JAMES CHARLES: TRYING WAY TOO HARD

Internet makeup artist James Charles turned up at the MTV VMA show SCREAMING for attention in this terrifying (Blac Chyna inspired?) outfit. We like his Brigitte Nielsen haircut, but from the hair down, he’s a disaster. How many straps, rhinestones, and zippers can be packed onto one ensemble? It’s every current fad rolled into one look. We’re not sure who James’ fans are – young girls who want to learn about makeup, or older men interested in other things. But we’re sure he’s caught everybody’s attention.

BELLA HADID : NAUGHTIER THAN GIGI FOR THE MTV VMA’S

The MTV VMA red carpet arrivals are notoriously sexy and creative – some wear space suits and some wear flying garters. Case in point: Bella Hadid’s strappy outfit will be hard to beat – she already makes her sister Gigi’s attire look plain. Award shows finally figured out that models liven up any red carpet event and started inviting them in quantity. Even the celebrities stop and ogle the models and paparazzi are all over them.

DOES BOBBY BROWN REMINISCE ABOUT THE OLD DAYS?

Bobby Brown looks like a typical suburban dad now, but we remember when he was a hot commodity. We met Bobby years ago at the after-party for the AMA show. That’s when he was riding high with New Edition, but Bobby was really funny, friendly and likeable. So we were not surprised when Whitney Houston fell hard for him. She was almost pathologically jealous of him- she would track him down at a party somewhere and show up and surprise him! (before cellphones) Once we remember him at a party, ducking into a back room looking guilty when word got out that Whitney was at the front door asking for him. He loved her, but he WAS mischievous. Anyway, we bet Bobby’s kids wouldn’t believe that their dad was once a casanova…
