We’re trying hard NOT to be freaked out by TLC’s new reality show “Abby and Brittany” documenting the story to conjoined twins from Minnesota who just graduated from college and are now job hunting. The two girls are cheerful and perky and have separate personalities but they are literally joined at the neck and share one body. Abby controls the right arm and leg and Brittany controls the left. Internally they have separate hearts, stomachs and spinal core, but share reproductive organs. A third arm was removed early on. They are used to being stared at, so being on camera didn’t bother them. We can’t stop pondering, is this a kind of twisted freak show or is it GOOD for everyone involved? Certainly it’s heartwarming to see the girls enjoy their lives. Is TLC pandering to morbid curiosity seekers or will this show teach viewers to be kinder to unusual or disadvantaged people? What’s your opinion? Will you watch this?

Of course it’s on TLC. They have given us such “educational” shows as Jon & Kate +8, Toddlers & Tiaras, My Strange Addiction, shows about midgets, plus a whole host of other shows that do nothing but exploit people and especially children. Now they’re exploiting conjoined twins. It’s disgusting. I can’t understand why people watch this channel full of trash.
TLC use to be good, eons ago when they had educational programs. However, TLC is not the only one guilty of trash TV, seems the norm on any given cable channel.
When it comes to TLC trash, let’s not forget about the hapless Duggars, who along with their similar-minded friends, are trying to corner the gene pool!
What ever happened to learning? It is more the leering channel or in the case of the Goslings the loser channel
Remembering when it was The Learning Channel? Every show is garbage now, freaks and nuts. The worst is that little pageant girl, I won’t even watch the trailer for that.
Completely agree with all posters above! TLC is a disgrace now, “learning” my @$$.
God bless those girls. There for the Grace of God go the rest of us. So wonderful to see them happy.

Well they seem very happy which under the circumstances is amazing. Unlike other cojoined twins, at least ycan walk and get out and around with friends.
Don’t have cable, thank goodness, so can’t watch any of the ilk on cable. When you see cases like this, it makes you stop and count your many blessings and feel remorseful when we gripe. 🙁

I stopped watching TLC years ago. It’s a side show channel now and only focuses on exploiting poligamy, deformaties and white trash. Bring back Trading Spaces.
