It’s about time. British actors are often cast to play iconic American figures, but Americans are seldom cast to play important Brits. Meryl Streep (above left) has changed all that. With all the amazing English actresses out there, our own Meryl Streep landed the heroic role of British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. The movie is called “The Iron Lady” and it is described as “The story of a woman who smashed through barriers of gender and class to be heard in a male dominated world.” Judging by the photo, Meryl’s off to a good start.

Meryl is one dedicated actress. If there is an actress who can capture the essence of The Former Prime Minister it is indeed Ms. Streep!!

Meryl is completely amazing. I have been impressed with her since she learned an entire language (polish) for Sophie’s Choice. How many of today’s stars are that dedicated? And she can sing too!
Yes, she’s more attractive than Lady Thatcher, but it’s obvious that Meryl can pull off anything.
I agree with Patrick on this one. More needed is a bull looking woman, not a feminine one like Meryl. She was gorgeous as Sophie by the way, just stunning.
