It’s always a thrill to discover a photograph you’ve never seen of someone you admire – especially if he’s been dead for many years. Jimi Hendrix is one of our all-time crushes and we still consider the one concert we saw of his to be the BEST EVER. We swooned when we saw this photo of Jimi having his hair teased while he reads Mad magazine. The hairdresser with the beehive looks like she’s struggling to keep her composure, and you can see Jimi’s feather boa draped across the lamp.

My older sister in high school used to wear her hair like this chick. Jimi was cool as hell perfect and STILL no one has compared to him.

I am not crazy about Jimi Hendrix but he did do music that the whole world loves and that is okay with me and I Never had a crush on him and never found him attractive or do-a-ble but I liked his music and it moved me and grooved me and He is from Seattle and his father died and his adopted sister got her hands on all of the money and Jimmy poor brother is left without a Dime.. But his brother could write a book and tell his side of the story? But of course to have sex with Hendrix and some woman got it on with him..Good for her and it is something that she remembers from 1968 and the sex was Hot….Then good for her and it must had been thrilling and wonderful and this must be the highlight of her life.. Goody Gum Drop and she Popped.

I saw Paul McCartney at Fenway Park a couple of years ago, and he did some storytelling. One was about Jimi. Sgt. Pepper’s came out on a Monday (I think, he mentioned that back then they didn’t have Tuesday drop dates) and The Beatles went to see Jimi perform the next night. He’d already learned most of Sgt. Pepper and played it for them! Then his guitar went out of tune, and he looked out in the audience saying “Where’s Eric”. Who walked out of the crowd to tune the guitar but, according to Paul, a very bleery eyed/high Eric Clapton. He did however manage to tune Jimi’s guitar.
Oh, to be a fly on that wall.
Great story Denise! Those were “the days” for an old hippie chick like me, but none of us get high any more, the ones that made it anyway.
