It seems like a lot of rockstar types die young, and if they don’t their drugging, chainsmoking, and partying catches up to them. Rock chick Anita Pallenberg was a gorgeous model/actress in the swinging sixties – she dated at least two Rolling Stones and toured the world with the band. (That’s her in the top photo with Mick and Keith in 1968) She dated Brian Jones for two years and afterward hooked up with Keith Richards for twelve years. They had three kids together. Anita’s 65 now (she was photographed outside a supermarket, looking cranky) and we think she might have aged better if she’d taken care of herself, but she DID have an extraordinary amount of fun!

Mick Jagger is not in that photo! I believe that is Keith on the right, not sure about the other one but its not Mick.

Lindsay, Britney, Paris, etc. should take a good look at this pic, what hard-living will do to you. After a while the surgeon can fix you up only so much, but what is going on in your guts is not pretty.

Actually, if you removed the cig (ack), brushed the hair, added a great hat (to go with the coat, which is pretty good), put on some big sunglasses and lipstick, she would look pretty good for 65. It’s ok to have wrinkles in your sixties, but you have to keep up the grooming. And smoking? Beyond bad.
She was also an actress and drop dead gorgeous, she was in Barbarella. I dont think she had 3 children with Keith, only one I know of and it’s Marlon Richards. She’s been a wreck for a long time, last time I saw her was in the bathroom at the Mudd Club.
Oh my God, that was her? I can’t remember what her character was called, some kind of queen or something, and she called Barbarella “My pretty, pretty” and was telling her to give in to “the matmos” or something? (Everyone was on drugs making that movie, right?) I haven’t seen it in years, but I remember that I thought she was so gorgeous in that movie. What a difference.

Damn people that’s called aging it’ happens. I’ve seem people who look worse and didn’t party. I’m sure she had more fun than any of YOU so I’m sure it’s worth a few wrinkles!

Anita and Keith had three children – Marlon, Dandelion (now Angela), and Tara (who died from SIDS or cot death at ten-weeks-old) with Keith. Anita was one of the most beautiful women in the world back in her heyday. She was also one of the most intelligent – fluent in five or six different languages, and was a huge influence on all of the Rolling Stones. If not for Anita and Marianne, the Stones would have never been introduced to the fabulous literature that would later affect and improve their songwriting. Also, Anita was the one who started putting eyeliner on them and loaning them her silk blouses to wear, which was very cutting edge at the time. She is often referred to as “The Sixth Stone.” She lived a hard life, and I have respect for any woman who can go toe-to-toe with Keith and come out alive.

And all the comments about ‘grooming’ – if she had all the people around her from when she was a model they could make her look 40 but she is real. Change the word from “dated” to fucked and you have what Anita really was doing….she was just a tart who sought to hang out with the groups but had to provide sex in doing so. She was far from the most beautiful in the world and certainly was never considered brainy. She was just a bee who was providing ample amounts of honey to the horny.
