It looks like progress is finally being made toward Scientology losing its tax-exempt status – it’s being TALKED ABOUT! Alex Gibney, the documentary filmmaker responsible for HBO’s “Going Clear,” wrote an excellent editorial in the LA Times today titled “Scientology Should Not Be Tax-Exempt.” And boy, do we agree! He reasons that Scientology should not have their tax status revoked because it is not a “real religion.” It has a strange belief system – but so do other religions (virgin birth?) Gibney points out that to maintain the right to be tax exempt, religions must fulfill certain requirements for charitable organizations. They may not serve the private interests of any individual and activities must not be illegal or violate fundamental public policy. On these points alone, he says, Americans should not subsidize Scientology through tax exemption. Clearly, he has made a logical argument and we predict the downfall of Scientology is imminent. Footnote: Since DONATIONS to Scientology are tax exempt, we predict all kind of problems for celebrity members if tax status changes.

Don’t touch that Virgin Birth Janet. How dare you put Christianity in the same light at Scientology.

well, they do both occupy the logical position, after all, your not going to suggest the Jesus was born through mitosis are you ? how silly, next you’ll suggest his birth was miraculous ( I heard Jesus was from Cincinnati )

Miscavige needs to go to prison for mistreating thousands of people. Tom can then follow.

The number one demonic false cult in the universe is going down down down. And the start of their demise is the thing which they worship, and that is of course MONEY.

The sand on which they built their power is slowly crumbling and will continue at an elevated rate.

    To repeat: Hallelujah!!!

PS: For those who deny the Virgin Birth, this is blasphemy and indicates you not a Christian.

    I forgot this:

@Noblecascade…….Scientology has killed several times. Lisa McPherson is one who was murdered by this cult…..Google this name. I would not be surprised if Miscavige had his wife murdered.

    PS again:

Also, I hope all the stupid high and mighty celebrities who are in this demonic cult will finally see how they were duped out of their money. And the kicker is that Scientology has all their private matters on tape in the idiot ‘auditing and clearing” sessions.

Feel like a fool yet, Travolta, Cruise Alley,Elfman, Presley? You will, and soon.

” Scientology has killed several times. “,

whereas Christianity, in its myriad of purely benevolent forms, has only ever killed by accident, and only a couple of times …. ha ha ha,

if there was ever a faith literally drenched, soaking in blood it’s Christinainity

if you choose to live by a spiritual fiction, fine, but at least be honest about history and science, they’re demonstrable at the minimum

Poor poor deluded christians. Your religion has the advantage of being older and was accepted before the scientific method was understood.

Your beliefs are just as nonsensical. Look at the hierarchy for angels in your bible. What ridiculous gobbledygook.

Christians will molder in the ground just as we all will. There is no afterlife.

Poor John, Poor Janet…..why not leave religion out of the so called: “Celebrity Gossip”

If Tom; big bucks, star attraction leaves it’s over.. A church is only way to hide money and take it from those who are seeking guidance and help and desire faith in a good cause and God’s spirituality to direct them to become good, happy and secure people..that’s the sad part. Stuck in this fake church system as a strictly judged and humbled servant, confessing all and having someone decide your fate or failings.. to rise in rank or stay of no account shut the doors to rescue and truth.. no freedom ..

    Strom, you juvenile racist.

You clearly don’t practice any religion but hatred and you dare defend religion??!! Hypocrite.

Poor, stalking John. The Constitution defends religion, I say there is no need for religious discussions on a “Hollywood Gossip” message board. Or “Save the Whales” or “Gay is OK” for that matter.

Janet, that LA Times editorial was excellent. Thanks for the link. I saw somewhere that there is an online petition ( to have scientology lose its tax exempt status.

So Cruise, Alley, Travolta, etc. join a Protestant church for a few years and then decide to leave. They are not harrassed and they have not gone thru auditing/clearing sessions. There is the difference.

Are you afraid to Google: Lisa McPherson?

Strom says “The Constitution defends religion.” That’s why Scientology got tax-free status in the first place. One religion is just as protected as the next.

The Constitution also defend the right of thinking people to say ALL religion is hogwash.

Poor John, but you are right of course. I just said religion has no place on a supposedly Hollywood Gossip Board.

You can worship dogs, and gays, and organic blueberries for all it matters.

Love him or hate him, this guy is a loudmouth who doesn’t hesitate to tell it like he sees it- but there’s one thing he NEVER talks about: his prostate problem. Long story short: he LEAKS! He likes to project an image of macho virility, but under his custom made suits are custom made “diapers.” He’s VERY self-conscious and has absorbent but undetectable “panty liners” sewn into all his underwear, to avoid wet spots. Thanks to his arrogant behavior, he has more than a few enemies and he’s terrified his secret will be exposed and he’ll be forever ridiculed!
