Helena Bonham Carter and her mother arrive back in England after a busy Oscar weekend in Los Angeles. Helena lost to Melissa Leo, but she and her mother Elena, a psychotherapist, had a good time. We’re guessing Helena got a smidgen of her fashion eccentricity from her mother.

HBC is my style hero. It takes a lot of creativity to be able to pull the things together that she does and it works. Trust me. I live near people who get dressed one of three ways: wear all your favorite clothes at once, Close your eyes and grab 3 things out of the closet, or flat our couture – There is no in-between. HBC has a thought process and though unusual, IT WORKS. I would buy from her if she had a clothing line. She would have to Geranimal tag it though, because I could not be trusted alone in a store to figure it out on my own.
On another note: Love her mama’s camo pants.
I love Helena’s style. She is not afraid to be different, she is happy in her outfits and she stands apart for everyone else. Her pieces have old Euro flavour to them from corsets to laced up shoes she is a fashion setter, not a follower.
Nothing wrong with wanting to be yourself and owning a style. In fact this shows how secure she feels. Kudos to Helena!
Yes, yes, yes, judos to her for being different and marching to her own drummer, but I can honestly say in real life pictures I have seen of her (a still beautiful woman) she has NEVER looked beautiful, ravishing, sexy, appealing, or feminine. She covers herself in layers of extemely contrasting materials, then usually some kind of combat boot things at the bottom. Her hair usually looks like she just got up from the ol Jane Russell haystack without so much as a handswept backwards to put any of it in place.
A shame really because she has (from what I can tell from her movies) an awesome bod. Too bad she can’t combine both her eccentricties AND be beautiful and alluring. In MY opinion she fails miserably at it over and over.

I think Helena Bonham Carter is great! She certainly could’t play in the U.S. South, but then she won’t want to. I think she has a lot of fun–
