Maybe this WILL be a civilized divorce. Ben Affleck is reportedly remodeling a wing of his 8700 sq ft Pacific Palisades home for his own private use. There were trucks and evidence of construction going on there today. It will include a separate bedroom. Since he and Jennifer Garner announced their divorce, he’s been living at home. This way he can spend lots of time with their children when he’s not on location shooting movies. Apparently both parents are happier and get along better living separately. And this way they won’t have to give up the large family home.

It takes big big money to live this way. They’re going to need big bcks when the kids need psychiatric counselling.

Well that’s quite civilized. I saw a couple on some daytime show who remodeled their property so each ex-spouse had their own ‘apartment.’ It was gorgeously done. His side was decorated with masculine colors and her side was decorated the way she liked. The kids’ bedrooms were located off a hall that connected the 2 sides. Each spouse locked the door on their own side when they were not in charge of the kids that week. If the kids wanted to see the other parent during the non-custodial week, they used the front door to exit and enter, which reinforced the concept of 2 separate homes, 2 parents, and respect and privacy. Really marvelous solution as long as the 2 adults cooperate. Not for everyone, for sure though.
