BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR DILEMMA: DENIRO OR WALTZ?

We were dead set on Robert DeNiro winning Best Supporting Actor for “Silver Linings Playbook” at the Oscars this year – until we finally got around to seeing “Django Unchained” and once again, Christoph Waltz stole the whole movie. Now we’re completely torn between the two. DeNiro was incredibly funny and sensitive – more genuine than he’s been in years. He made us laugh out loud. But then Christoph came along with the juiciest dialog imaginable, and he delivered each line PERFECTLY. Another laugh out loud. His character is mesmerizing. As much as we like Tommy Lee Jones, we don’t think his role in Lincoln topped DeNiro and Waltz, but HE is predicted to win for Lincoln. Why?

  3. de niro does it like A BOSS

he deserves it since he has not had an academy award since supporting actor in GF II in 1975 and for best actor in raging bull in 1981. The man is one of the foremost actors in the world. period.
