It is a rare movie that you walk out of laughing AND smarter than when you walked in. Bill Maher’s documentary “Religulous” is that movie. He asks bold and pertinent questions of religious leaders around the world. And he plays no favorites. All religions (including Scientology) are approached with the same probing queries and the answers will astound and entertain you. Bill is very careful to walk a neutral line – he doesn’t want to end up on a hit list like Salman Rushdie. And Maher presents a powerful argument for keeping church and state separate. This documentary should be required viewing for politicians and students. We’re hoping there will be a Religulous II – there is so much more to investigate.
Unfortunately, all the money in the world couldn’t fix his face.

As Bill says in his movie, ans I say too, I DON’T KNOW and neither do you…the bible and all religious books were written by MEN….MEN…ans some of it even hundres of years after “he” died. I’m not “following” anything or anyone…I am my own person, a good person, I help people all the time have never broken the law, am 56 and have two speeding tickets to my name…that’s IT. Raised two great sons who are law abiding people as well. Should I die and find out there IS a “heaven” and my following the Golden Rule was not good enough, well then so be it, that’s no place I would want to spend eternity, where murderers can get in by saying I’m sorry but a good person like myself who didn’t swallow the whole religion pill DOESN’T because I didn’t, well, you can see the folly in that can’t you? You can HAVE your “Heaven” full of repentant baby rapers and murderers and I’ll take whereever good folks who have never done anyone harm but just didn’t believe in religions go, if it’s only into a 6 feet under cold dirt grave, so be it, nothing lasts forever folks, and even YOU can’t be SURE of that, now CAN YOU?

I am totally against RELIGION too….totally against it. What I AM for (and am thankful for) is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who as you know gave his life as a sacrifice on the Cross for our sins, was put in the tomb, rose bodily the 3rd day, and ascended into heaven (seen by 500).
The thing is: I believe you are a good person, yet the Bible (written by the Holy Spirit) states all our goodness is as filthy rags in His sight. In other words, how much GOODNESS does it take to get us to heaven? Even if you had 10 million $$ and gave it ALL to charities, we are still sinners with the Adamic influence on our lives. Read John 3:16 & 17. and Ephesians 2: 8 & 9. Even St. Paul, who for 35 years traveled spreading the Gospel declared himself the chiefest of sinners. We are told to repent and accept his forgiveness that He freely purchased for you by shedding his Holy blood to cover your sins, wash you clean, and make you righteous in the sight of God the Father, and therefore assurance of heaven. As to the murderers, OJ, deathbed repentance, etc. the decision about them is not up to us. Don’t worry about them. Good night, dear Sister, and may God bless you.
dear friend, as I said, and since you believe in Jesus, you a re a Christian, there fore religious, and all your following giberious is a waste of time and space. Who says YOU are RIGHT? And all the other believers of their religions are WRONG? Religions that were there before yours? Sorry, ain’t buyin it, and want no part of it, and please dear kind hearted person, please or please oh please no not “Bless me” let alone with your God thoughts, I don’t WANT it, didn’t ASK for it, and don’t need it. I am a thinking person, and have CHOSEN by THINKING to forgo the Biblical teaching and all other religious books before and after it. I have a fine life, am super happy, have great friends, even religious ones, who understand and let me be me and don’t try to brainwash me nor I them, it’s called RESPECT. And I would surely hope most of these bible thumpers and overly zealous religious nuts that cruise here would get a grip and quit being so judgemental on people’s looks, etc, as they have done on Bill Maher. I find that type of person hard to swallow, believe while thumping all the while their bible in Gods name and proclaiming their place in Heaven. Jesus, what a bunch of losers!!!
