BOBBY DARIN: DREAM LOVER OR DREAM CAR?

We just saw these photos of Bobby Darin’s “dream car” and just HAD to share them. This futuristic vehicle was built by a friend of Bobby’s in Detroit and it took seven years to build (1953 to 1960) at a cost of $93,000. Darin told his friend he’d buy the car if he ever “hit it big.” He DID. and paid $150,000 for the car in 1961. Darin enjoyed the car for years and finally donated it to the St Louis Museum of Transportation in 1970, where it remains today. He died three years later.

Thanks! I’m in love with that car. Looks like a converted Caddie. Wish I knew what all those controls did.

I just love Bobby Darin’s music. A tremendous talent that left us way too soon. A very cool car, too. I agree that it looks like the batmobile!

I found Bobby Darin after he had already passed – but I am so glad I did! I love his music and he just seemed so ultra cool, he and Sandra Dee. Love seeing this old car and a picture of him with it. Thanks!

NEW UPDATE CHECK IT OUT - HOLLYWOOD WHODUNIT!

  • HOLLYWOOD WHODUNIT: LOOK WHO’S NOT TALKING ABOUT HARVEY WEINSTEIN !
    |

We love every one of Harvey Weinstein’s female accusers – but what about the actresses who AREN’T talking? One actress who won an Oscar in the 90’s has been CONSPICUOUSLY SILENT about the casting couch scandal. It’s because SHE has had a long-term “arrangement” with Harvey in which she traded sex for showbiz favors and it must have been awful, but her career prospered. Now this A-lister is horrified at the prospect of being found out! And, guess what – she’s NOT the only one who’s conspicuously silent!
    Any guesses?
