Here’s a little known fact: Did you ever notice that easygoing Brokeback Mountain stud Heath Ledger – who seems so perfect- has a speech impediment? That’s right. When the Oscar nominated Aussie actor is under pressure he starts to stutter. If he’s excited or nervous it becomes even more noticeable. He’s learned to cope with it. People who’ve worked with him say that while he’s filming movies, he often has to repeat his lines over and over until they ‘re delivered without a hitch.

Why on earth would you want to publicize another person’s disability? What kind of sick reporting is that? If, in fact, Mr. Ledger has a disability, he has a right to his PRIVACY and not to have some gossip-monger reveal it to the world. He has a right to be accorded respect and dignity, something you stripped him of when you printed such trash. Shame on you.
Anonymous 11:17, we respect him for his achievements. Heath has worked with so many people in the film community, and a lot of people just admire him. Stuttering is not a shameful character flaw – or a disability. Get off your high horse.
I stutter. I don’t consider it a disability or a flaw. It’s just a “quirk” about me. This makes me admire Heath’s skills even more.
I wouldn’t kick him out of bed for stuttering . . . especially if he was saying, “do you want m-m-m-m-ore???”
The stuttering might be a result of accommodating the other cowboy’s engorged appendage.
