TAYLOR SWIFT SUPER BOWL DILEMMA

Taylor Swift could be facing her own Sophie’s Choice moment if her boyfriend, Travis Kelce and his team, the Kansas City Chiefs make it to the Super Bowl. Taylor is set to take the stage on Saturday February 10 in Tokyo, Japan, for her wildly successful Eras Tour – and from there she’s planning to fly to Australia to prepare for her concerts Down Under. Here’s the problem: the Super Bowl is Sunday, February 11, in Las Vegas, so it’s going to be cutting it REALLY close for Taylor to make it to the big game. Keep in mind, this could all be for naught since the Chiefs STILL have to win a few games to make it to the Super Bowl. But Taylor is already planning ahead, JUST IN CASE. She’s looking at chartering a long haul VIP private jet that could make the trip without refueling. Price tag $30k an hour so for the 14-hour one-way journey, a cool $420,000! Keep in mind from Vegas she would have to charter the jet to Australia for her dates so add another $500k to the cost. Total trip… one million dollars!

CALISTA FLOCKHART HAS NO FEAR OF FLYING WITH HARRISON FORD

Pilot Harrison Ford has had more than his share of flight problems – close calls, near-misses, and crash landings, but his wife Calista Flockhart still has total faith in his flying. Ford, 78, often flies himself and his wife, plus their dogs, back and forth to their Wyoming home. He flew her relatives in for the holidays, and flew Calista’s son Liam to college in Massachusetts. He’s also gearing up to start filming Indiana Jones 5, reprising his role as the daredevil archeologist, and will certainly fly himself to and from the set. Disney optimistically set a July 2022 release date for the film.

JONATHAN RHYS MEYERS SURVIVED AN AIRPLANE FLIGHT WITHOUT A CASE OF THE CRAZIES

It’s a day to celebrate for Jonathan Rhys Meyers. He actually made it through an airplane flight (they just arrived in Paris) without getting drunk and making a horrible scene. Police were involved in incidents in Dublin, New York, Paris, and LA when he became inebriated before and during flights and abused airline personnel using unprintable obscenities against them. If his wife was present he insulted her and loudly threatened to divorce her as well. There’s something about airports that set off his drinking and anger issues. Later he’s apologetic, and despite her humiliation, his wife Mara (above with their child Wolf) always forgives him. She says he’s receiving “holistic treatment for his anger issues.”

JONATHAN RHYS MEYERS SHOULD AVOID AIRPORTS AT ALL COSTS

Seems like every time we get some news about Match Point star Jonathan Rhys Meyers, it ‘s all about a drunken outburst at an airport. He’s been in and out of rehabs fighting alcohol and anger issues and both problems are exacerbated when flying. During his last incident starting in Miami he reportedly waved wheelchair passengers out of the way and insisted on boarding first because he was “a first class passenger.” A witness said that during the flight he consumed drink after drink, visited the bathroom over and over, and was so inebriated that he didn’t notice that his pants fell down. Then he pulled out an e-cigarette and when his wife begged him to stop he cursed her and told her he wanted a divorce. Police met him when the plane arrived at LAX and his wife Mara made excuses for him (?) and apologized profusely. He didn’t get arrested, but we pity that wife. And after four or five of these abusive “incidents,” why hasn’t he been banned from flying those airlines?

EVEN PARIS HILTON DOESN’T DESERVE THIS KIND OF TREATMENT

We are not huge fans of Paris Hilton but we’re appalled by the prank pulled on her by that Egyptian TV show. While making a personal appearance in Dubai, Paris was convinced to take an airplane tour of the city. She was alone and surrounded by actors in the plane when suddenly an alarm sounded, a strange smell wafted in, and the plane took a plunge. A man who seemed to be the pilot, jumped out of the plane. Paris was screaming and terrified and the actors pretended to panic and weep. The horror of the prospect of death continued far too long. When the plane FINALLY landed, the man seated next to her informed the distraught Paris that he was an Egyptian TV host and she had been pranked. It’s too bad the cowardly Egyptian is getting so much publicity from this evil stunt because he deserves a punch in the nose. NO ONE should suffer through a malevolent “prank” like that. Would this creep have DARED pull this stunt on a MAN? Someone like Sean Penn? It would have had quite a different ending.

HEY BIG SPENDER! MARIAH CAREY TRAVELS IN STYLE

Frankly, we were impressed to hear that Mariah Carey reserved the ENTIRE first class cabin on a British Airways flight to the Cannes Film Festival next month. (Cost: $118,000) Apparently Nick Cannon, the twins, nannies, bodyguards, assistants, and MAYBE hairdressers, stylists, makeup artists etc will be along for the ride. The British First Class cabins seem to offer a LOT of privacy with all those separate pods that turn into beds. What fun to have a whole group of friends together in one cabin for the trip! Mariah knows how to LIVE! Nick Cannon will never be able to give this up.

MALAYSIAN MYSTERY: THE TWO MEN WITH FORGED PASSPORTS WERE NOT TERRORISTS – THEY WERE HOMOSEXUAL!

Remember the two young Iranian men who traveled with forged passports on the missing Malaysian flight? The falsified passports set off alarms of terrorism. Interpol released photos of the men. The two guys were heavily investigated to determine if they had any ties to terrorism. A great deal of information was gathered about the two mystery men and it was established that the Iranian men were friends. The fact that they were seeking asylum in Europe BECAUSE THEY WERE GAY was never mentioned. Iran routinely executes homosexuals and is considered the most homophobic of the Islamic countries. MISSING MALAYSIAN JETLINER: WAS IT THE CO-PILOT?

With the Malaysian jetliner disappearance still a mystery, theories abound in Washington. Here’s one theory that we heard: The copilot was the mastermind. He locked the pilot out of the cockpit and put on his facial breathing apparatus. He flew the plane up to 45,000 feet and DEPRESSURIZED the passenger cabin, causing everyone to die in a matter of seconds. He brought the plane down and it was delivered to terrorists in Pakistan to be used as a weapon in the near future.
(We were horrified at the thought of the plane full of corpses being delivered, but apparently terrorists have strong stomachs.) Of course, this is only a theory.

HELLO KITTY IS A WELCOME RELIEF FROM DRAB AND CLAUSTROPHOBIC PLANES

Flying is so unpleasant these days that any deviation from the norm is welcome. We had no idea that Hello Kitty was SO popular in Taiwan that five of EVA Airways jets are dedicated to the cartoon figure. The exterior and interior of the planes carry the theme from pillows to bathroom toiletries to in-flight dining. The kids meals are especially cute and feature Kitty shaped pasta. So far the Hello Kitty fleet is highly profitable. Maybe we could have an Elvis jet in America.

SNOOKI AND SAMMI HAVE EXCESSIVE CARRY-ON LUGGAGE

Snooki arrived at the New York airport looking more than ready to fly to Italy for the fourth season of Jersey Shore. Why she and Sammi are carrying huge stuffed animals on the plane is unknown, but they are flying business class. When all the places in Italy that are reluctant to cooperate as Jersey Shore locations realize how MUCH BUSINESS the show can attract for them, they’ll be rolling out the red carpet. One thing for sure – paparazzi will be everywhere!
