JONATHAN RHYS MEYERS SURVIVED AN AIRPLANE FLIGHT WITHOUT A CASE OF THE CRAZIES

It’s a day to celebrate for Jonathan Rhys Meyers. He actually made it through an airplane flight (they just arrived in Paris) without getting drunk and making a horrible scene. Police were involved in incidents in Dublin, New York, Paris, and LA when he became inebriated before and during flights and abused airline personnel using unprintable obscenities against them. If his wife was present he insulted her and loudly threatened to divorce her as well. There’s something about airports that set off his drinking and anger issues. Later he’s apologetic, and despite her humiliation, his wife Mara (above with their child Wolf) always forgives him. She says he’s receiving “holistic treatment for his anger issues.”

JONATHAN RHYS MEYERS SHOULD AVOID AIRPORTS AT ALL COSTS

Seems like every time we get some news about Match Point star Jonathan Rhys Meyers, it ‘s all about a drunken outburst at an airport. He’s been in and out of rehabs fighting alcohol and anger issues and both problems are exacerbated when flying. During his last incident starting in Miami he reportedly waved wheelchair passengers out of the way and insisted on boarding first because he was “a first class passenger.” A witness said that during the flight he consumed drink after drink, visited the bathroom over and over, and was so inebriated that he didn’t notice that his pants fell down. Then he pulled out an e-cigarette and when his wife begged him to stop he cursed her and told her he wanted a divorce. Police met him when the plane arrived at LAX and his wife Mara made excuses for him (?) and apologized profusely. He didn’t get arrested, but we pity that wife. And after four or five of these abusive “incidents,” why hasn’t he been banned from flying those airlines?

VAL KILMER UNDERCOVER AT THE AIRPORT

The mystery of Val Kilmer continues. Kilmer, 57, was photographed this week at the airport being pushed in a wheelchair, with head and shoulders totally covered by a black cloth. (How anyone recognized him is the first mystery.) Christian Scientist Val continues to downplay his health problems (he’s been hospitalized at least 3 times under fake names) although he finally admitted he was “healing” from cancer. Michael Douglas had spilled the beans that Val had the same oral cancer that he did – but implied the prognosis was not great. Val denied it, Michael apologized, but later Val admitted it was true. According to IMBD, Val has movies in progress, but the airport episode makes one wonder… Hopefully, he was hiding from the press because an actress just accused him of hitting her during an audition in the 80’s.

BRITNEY SPEARS AT LAX: THE INDIGNITY OF IT ALL!

Britney Spears is one of the most famous pop stars around, but at the airport she doesn’t get any special treatment when it comes to security. She and her two sons Sean and Jayden had to go through two screening devices and something about Britney kept setting off alarms. She had to take off her hat, her glasses, and her shoes and became increasingly annoyed as she attracted more and more attention. But she kept her cool.

DITA VON TEESE: ONCE UPON A TIME PEOPLE DRESSED UP WHEN THEY TRAVELED

VITA DEPARTS AA.

This passenger should be bumped up to First Class immediately! Dita Von Teese arrived at Lax looking WAY better than most passengers, who favor sweats and big sneakers. Her summer frock is cool and comfortable and she’s wearing flat shoes. This is how people USED to look at airports back in the 60’s. Of course, the flights were a whole lot more comfortable and civilized in those days.

NATALIE COLE DOESN’T FEEL LIKE WALKING

Little did Natalie Cole realize that she’d be surrounded by fans and photographers when she got off a flight at LAX. On Monday she performed in a free concert at Georgetown University honoring MLK day.She must have been exhausted because she requested help getting through the terminal. Celebrities HATE to be photographed in a wheelchair at the airport, but her attempts to go under the radar failed and she eventually enjoyed the attention. Nice boots.

MICHAEL DOUGLAS AND HIS FAMILY LOOK HAPPY AGAIN

Here’s a nice change. It’s the Michael Douglas family – Catherine, looking beautiful and their kids Dylan and Carys, walking through the airport instead of the Jolie-Pitts. It’s been awhile since we saw them all together. The family is in the Barcelona Airport after attending the film festival there. Michael was in a good mood – he cracked a joke and made the security guard laugh while going through the metal detector.

EVA LONGORIA DOESN’T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT HER FURRY PILLOW

Since Desperate Housewives folded, Eva Longoria has been busier than all of her costars put together. She’s a producer (most notably Devious maids) and she’s also started directing. But some things never change. Eva just cannot get on an airplane without her special travel pillow. She’s been photographed dozens of times throughout the years clutching her furry travel companion at the airport.

DEMI MOORE AND ASHTON KUTCHER CALL A TRUCE FOR THE SAKE OF PROPRIETY

We had to laugh when we heard that when Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher got OFF that Southwest return flight we wrote about earlier, that everything changed. When they saw each other in the Burbank airport waiting area and realized they were on the SAME flight, they both looked uncomfortable and ignored each other. On the plane they sat four rows apart. They were both headed for the same tech conference dealing with preventing online predators from abusing children. At some point, they realized didn’t want their personal problems detracting from their mission. When they returned to Burbank after the conference, they put aside their differences, smiled, and walked through the airport together while paparazzi flashed. It was the civilized thing to do.

DITA VON TEESE: GOOD THINGS HAPPEN TO PEOPLE WHO TRY HARDER

Considering that most people today dress way DOWN when they fly, and baggy sweats, baseball caps, and flip flops are the norm, we have to applaud Dita Von Teese for traveling in style. She’s at the airport and immaculately attired as if she were catching a Pan Am flight in the 1960’s. Looking like this opens the door for some interesting experiences.
