Back in the late 90’s, Benicio Del Toro was one of the hottest and sexiest actors in Hollywood. The sleepy eyed Benicio was once referred to as the “Spanish Brad Pitt.” Alicia Silverstone had such a crush on him that she cast him as her leading man in “Excess Baggage.” The “Usual Suspects” star gained forty pounds for one role and started looking more sloppy than sexy. His scruffy facial hair and ever present baseball cap has turned him into more of a character actor than a leading man. Above, he’s leaving Dan Tana’s with a doggie bag.

PETA WEEPS FOR MILK COWS

Surely, celebrities like Pamela Anderson, Pink, and Alicia Silverstone who shill for PETA, MUST be having second thoughts about their allegiance to the cultish group after their latest absurd announcement. PETA suggested to Ben & Jerry ice cream makers that they use nursing mother’s milk instead of cow milk to make their ice cream. “It would reduce suffering of cows and give ice cream lovers a healthier product.” So said Tracy Reiman, Executive Vice President of PETA. Keep in mind YOUR donations are paying high salaries to PETA executives like HER. Meanwhile, abused and homeless dogs and cats languish in pounds across the country.

KEN PAVES DOES EVA LONGORIA AND ALICIA SILVERSTONE

Here’s Eva Longoria walking out of Ken Paves salon yesterday after a FOUR HOUR session of getting her hair done. One thing about Eva – she seems to be TOTALLY enjoying al the fuss over her upcoming wedding. Every little detail from rings to dresses etc is being examined by the press and Eva could care less. She really seems happy.

Alicia Silverstone got her hair done at Ken Paves salon on the same day as Eva, and HER entire process only took ONE hour, proving she is a low maintenance no-nonsense kind of girl. Her vegan diet is apparently keeping her slim. We love that Alicia is an animal activist, but if she’d separate herself from that cultish PETA, we’d like her even better.

What do Isabella Rossellini and Alicia Silverstone have in common? Maybe not much, except for their taste in food. Isabella is in LA for the Roberto Rossellini restrospective at the Billy Wilder Theater in Westwood. (It would have been her father’s 100th birthday.) Isabella dined at Tengu in Westwood and she ordered the grilled vegetable tower with tofu steaks. Exactly the SAME healthy meal that Alicia Silverstone ate there recently, and raved about.

Alicia Silverstone is not about to let us forget how politically correct and her beliefs are. From top to bottom she screams “GREEN!” Her sweatshirt tells us she’s a strict vegeterian, and she’s carrying a cup of rainforest grown yerba mate tea. Her tote bag announces that it is NOT a plastic bag, and her recycled rubber shoes – definitely NOT Jimmy Choos – pretty much thumb their nose at fashion. We love a girl who stands behind her convictions – especially in rubber clogs.
