Penelope Cruz is in Miami filming her role as Donatella Versace in American Crime Story and we are dumfounded by how little she resembles the designer. Donatella, who took over as head designer when her brother Gianni Versace was murdered, is quite unusual looking and has had a number of cosmetic procedures. We know Penelope can act, but visually she couldn’t be further from reality.

Ricky Martin must be excited about his role in Versace: American Crime Story – it will probably open doors for him in Hollywood. Puerto Rican born Ricky did a little acting in Mexico before he returned to music and became an international pop star. He’s playing Antonio D’Amico, Gianni Versace’s good looking boyfriend of fifteen years. He and Edgar Ramirez as Gianni, filmed a beachside scene today in Miami. Versace was killed in 1997 and his sister Donatella has never gotten along with Antonio. We love that “Antonio” is carrying i-D magazine from 1994 with Kylie Minogue on the cover – the coolest fashion periodical of the 90’s. Nice touch.

Ryan Murphy is a stickler for authenticity so it’s no surprise that he rented Gianni Versace’s Miami mansion, where he was killed in 1997, as a filming location for Versace: American Crime Story. The elaborate house is now a boutique hotel, Villa Casa Casuarina, with ten rooms retaining many Versace features. All the rooms are ultra-fancy (gaudy and very Trumpish with lots of gold) and go for over a thousand dollars a night. So you can imagine what it cost for ACS to rent the whole place for the month of May. Ricky Martin is playing Versace’s boyfriend Antonio and we look forward to seeing him in a Speedo around the pool.

Whoa! We just got a glimpse of the awful things to come next season on Versace: American Crime Story. Venezuelan actor Edgar Ramirez bears a startling resemblance to the designer and it appears they’re filming the murder scene in Miami Beach. Gianni Versace was murdered by a serial killer on the doorstep of his beachside home. It was rumored that Lady Gaga would play Donatella Versace but Ryan Murphy admitted that scheduling didn’t work out. Penelope Cruz got the part and we bet Donatella is highly flattered!

David Schwimmer is actually starting to LOOK like OJ Simpson’s nefarious buddy Robert Kardashian! He’s on the Brentwood set filming American Crime Story, and the Kardashian kids are featured in the TV movie also. Little lookalike versions of Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, and Rob Jr have been cast to costar. Having younger versions of the entire Kardashian family will certainly increase interest in the project. Smart idea. We’re betting the girl in pink is playing Kim and the girl in blue is definitely Khloe.

David Schwimmer, 48, doesn’t look half as happy as his wife Zoe Buckman or his daughter Cleo who’s riding on her mom’s rolling suitcase, as they arrive in London. Maybe David is getting into character to play Robert Kardashian Sr in ”The People VS OJ Simpson.” This is David’s first series since “Friends.” The actual series is called “American Crime Story,” and it will feature the most sensational crimes in this country. The first season of ten episodes will tell the OJ story. Charisma Carpenter is playing Nicole Brown Simpson and Shannen Doherty got the part of her sister Denise. But who will play Kato?
