ANDERSON COOPER: WE TOLD YA SO!

Back on May 14 we reported that Anderson Cooper was fed up with his gig on CNN after Donald Trump’s disastrous town hall. We revealed that Anderson was threatening to quit because he didn’t agree with the direction the newer CEO, Chris Licht was guiding the network. Plus Anderson wanted more control over programming. Anderson had some serious meetings with CNN and less than a month later he got his wish. Chris was terminated this week and our source says Anderson was given a private promotion. That means he has the same title, but now has more POWER to decide what airs.

ANDERSON COOPER IS EMBARRASSED BY TRUMP’S CNN FIASCO

Could Anderson Cooper be the next to exit CNN? The network’s newer CEO, Chris Licht, is rebranding the news channel from liberal to being more centrist -which explains why he featured disgraced presidential candidate Donald Trump on a recent Town Hall. Donald’s outrageous appearance was peppered with lie after lie (he does seem to lie about everything) and the live audience was stacked with his ill-mannered supporters. It was SO not typical for CNN, that many viewers are now calling for a boycott. Even some of Anderson’s well-connected friends gave him grief over Trump’s appearance (even though he had nothing to do with the show) so now he is rethinking his relationship with the network. Although Anderson is still under contract, behind closed doors, talks have started about an amicable split. My source says that unless Anderson is given more control over the network’s new direction he could be out the door.

Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen have been friends for ages, but now they could become roommates. The guys call NYC home, but both spend enough time in Los Angeles for work and social commitments that they’ve started looking at a place to buy together. Anderson and Andy are looking at large condominiums in the West Hollywood and Beverly Hills area. They want a place where they can come and go without worrying about anything, so a doorman is on their list of requirements. They’d rarely if ever be there at the same time, but nonetheless want at least 3 bedrooms, one for each of them and a kids room for their children. In case you were curious- money doesn’t seem to be much of an issue as they’re looking in the $5 million and above category.

There’s something adorable and old-fashioned about Anderson Cooper. He appeared with his mother Gloria Vanderbilt on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and he actually blushed and cringed at a few of his amazing mother’s personal disclosures. Among the most interesting revelations were the fact that Gloria rated Howard Hughes as the best lover she ever had and also that she would have married him in a minute, but he never asked. She also didn’t think the Howard Hughes movie with Leonardo DiCaprio accurately portrayed Hughes.

When he failed to get promoted on-air, he made a fake press pass and used it to gain access to film his own news segments, which he ultimately sold to the network. For years, we watched Kathy Griffin go out of her way to avoid the word “gay” or any other homosexual reference when she was in the presence of Anderson Cooper. They started hosting CNN’s New Year’s Eve together in New York and as crazy as Kathy can be, she carefully considered every word while she was in his presence and avoided all gay jokes. Good for her. She wanted to be his friend and her diplomacy paid off. Now that he’s out of the closet she must be relieved, but we still don’t think she will dwell on the subject. However, we cannot help but dwell on the Kim Zolciak size wig Kathy is rocking in this photo. She obviously had it custom made to look exactly like her own hair – only more abundant and perfectly curled – good when you have to spend a lot of time outdoors in the cold…

We were really happy to see Anderson Cooper come out of the closet. We knew it would have to happen soon after he got his own talk show. When one is questioning a guest about very personal aspects of their lives, it doesn’t add up for the host to have “vague areas” of his own life. Anderson has certainly never denied being gay or even hinted that he wasn’t. His sexual preference has been discussed endlessly online and he never seemed bothered by it all. Fans admire him for his character and personality, not his sexuality. We still have a crush on him. And now Kathy Griffin won’t have to be so careful about what she says.

We knew that the delightful Anderson Cooper was a fussbudget and somewhat uptight from watching his talk show but we were still surprised to see the Manhattan penthouse he lived in. Cooper is selling this refurbished loft in mid-town Manhattan for $3,750,000, now that he’s moving into his redone firehouse in the Village. The 3100 sq ft, two story residence has 2 bedrooms, two and a half baths, and a 1700 sq ft terrace. But it is so stark and simple and monochromatic that it seems cold and impersonal. It’s as far from gaudy as you can get. The biggest indulgence seems to be the radiant heating under the floors. It does tell you a lot about Anderson Cooper.
