TWIGGY QUIT MODELING, BUT NEVER STOPPED WORKING

Janice Dickinson is fond of bragging that she was the “first Supermodel,” but in actuality the first supermodels were probably Jean Shrimpton and Twiggy (above) in the 60’s. Twiggy was only 16 when she became world famous for her pixie haircut and super slim androgynous looks. In 1970 she quit modeling and turned to acting in movies and TV. Now 69, she’s still very involved in the beauty business and works with Marks & Spencer on fashion collections for women her age.

It’s been fun writing about androgynous model Andrej Pejic as his career blossomed in both the male and female fashion world. But androgyny isn’t enough for the Serbian born Australian raised model. Andrej has had sexual reassignment and changed his name to Andreja. A documentary was filmed of the process – the bottom photo is a still of Andreja in her hospital bed recovering. The transgender male to female surgical procedures were performed by Dr Toby Meltzer in Scottsdale, Arizona. Cost: $23,000 to $28,000. Andreja says she will only model as a female from now on. We can’t help but wonder if she will be as much in demand as a model now that she’s just another “female.”

LOOKING HOT: WILL ANREJ PEJIC FIND LOVE AT COACHELLA?

There’s another 6’2” lanky blonde model giving Ireland Baldwin a run for her money at Coachella. It happens to be Andrej Pejic, the androgynous sensation of the fashion world. Andrej has worked the runway in both men’s and women’s shows in Paris and appeared in numerous magazine layouts. Judging by how girlie Andrej looks, we can imagine all sorts of “oops” scenarios at Coachella with those drunk guys.

TOKIO HOTEL: BILL KAULITZ’S FASHION EVOLUTION

#tokiohotel #billkaulitz #janetcharlton

Last time we saw the German band Tokio Hotel (bottom photo) was two years ago and the lead singer Bill Kaulitz was looking a lot more androgynous, but dependably fashion forward. His skater style twin brother Tom always had dreads (behind Bill in the top photo) so he hasn’t evolved quite so much. The band showed up at Bootsy Bellows nightclub in Hollywood and Bill posed with a fan, above.

ANDROGYNOUS MODEL ANDREJ PEJIC’ S OFF DUTY LOOK

We often wondered what androgynous model Andrej Pejic wore when he went out at night. Keep in mind, he walks BOTH runways (male and female) and he was named #18 on the Top 50 Male Models list. Andrej, 20, had the honor of wearing a wedding gown in Jean-Paul Gaultier’s fashion show in Paris. This is how he dressed for an evening at a London bar – girly, but not much makeup. Certainly, guys must be hitting on him all the time…

ANDROGYNOUS MODEL ANDRE PEJIC IS A HIT ON BOTH RUNWAYS

We remain fascinated by androgynous model Andrej Pejic, who successfully walks the runway in both men’s and women’s fashion shows. Since we told you about his New York Fashion Week appearance in five shows for men and four for women, he has gone on to continued success. Walking both sides of the runway gets him twice the work so he leaves his gender “open to artistic interpretation.” The 6’1” Serbian born-Australian raised Pejic has fortunately enjoyed total acceptance from his family. According to New York Magazine, he now ranks #11 on Models.com’s Top 50 Male Models list. And his mother does interviews on Australian TV about her son. Andrej has to keep his arms thin to fit into sample sizes and he already wears a size 11 woman’s shoe. He’s 19 now and we wonder how long he will be able to keep his pretty boy look.

SHOULD THIS ANDROGYNOUS DOSSIER MAGAZINE COVER BE BANNED?

Not long ago, we told you about the androgynous model Andrej Pejic, 19, who walked in both male and female fashion shows in New York. The 6’2” Andrej is a male who LOOKS like a female supermodel and he was censored for appearing on the cover of Dossier magazine. Barnes & Noble booksellers in New York informed the magazine publisher that this issue had to be sold wrapped on brown paper like a sex magazine or they refused to put it on their shelves. The situation is strange because muscular shirtless men appear on magazine covers all the time, but this skinny guy is forbidden. The bookstore insists that “the model is young and could be mistaken for a young naked female.”
