Our esteemed colleague James St James at The WOW Report published this utterly fascinating letter that Mick Jagger wrote to Andy Warhol in 1969, asking him to design an album cover. It’s delightfully revealing because Mick Jagger was obviously so much better educated that he wanted us to know in those days. His rep back then was that of a care-free, drugged up, frivolous rockstar, but his writing is decidedly smart and upper class. Now we know he was always the brains behind The Rolling Stones. The result of this correspondence was probably the most famous album cover of all time.

Rick Salomon has been looking a bit rough around the edges since he and Pamela Anderson got their marriage annulled. And now there’s a wrench in the works. Rick has a multi-million dollar art collection and when they were together he gave Pam a Warhol of Marilyn Monroe for her Malibu house. Now he wants the $250,000 painting BACK. But Pam insists it was a GIFT and she intends to keep it.

BRANDON DAVIS HELPS JARED NAJJAR TAKE HIS WARHOLS HOME

Brandon Davis finally scored some legitimate income. He calls himself an art broker – and apparently he really is one, because he brokered a $400,000 deal for two Warhols. (Marilyn and Flowers seen above) The buyer was Brandon’s friend Jared Najjar, who is Brody Jenner’s superwealthy buddy on The Hills. Girls should note that Jared is the true “catch” among all the losers on that show. He comes from a family of real estate billionaires and we hear he’s mannerly and well brought up. Plus he’s 24 and has a Black AX card.

SACHA BARON COHEN HOPES TO HANG A WARHOL ON HIS WALL

Sacha Baron Cohen is interested in acquiring modern art and he has his eye on a very special Warhol painting. Cohen saw the piece at a charity party at an LA art gallery and he was immediately drawn to it. In 1981 Andy painted a portrait of his last boyfriend Jon Gould, an executive at Paramount. It is NOT a lithograph like much of Andy’s art. Since Andy was in love with Gould, it’s an exceptionally personal and rare piece. The Borat creator has been negotiating to buy the multi million dollar Warhol and experts agree the value is likely to increase enormously, so it’s a good investment.
