We have NEVER seen a paparazzi photo of Robert Deniro shopping in a market so THIS was a surprise. But we soon learned this was a location shoot for the Nancy Meyers comedy “The Intern,” which sounds like it’ll be funny. Anne Hathaway plays the owner of an internet fashion business who learns that she is getting an intern. The intern turns out NOT to be a stylish college student, but an older man played by DeNiro. Surprisingly, the intern becomes a valuable assistant and the pair develop a friendly relationship.

Liza Minnelli is being difficult. While she admits she is a fan of Anne Hathaway, the more she thinks about it the less Liza likes the idea of Anne being cast to play her mother Judy Garland. Liza thinks Anne is just NOT right for the part. Producer Harvey Weinstein insists that Anne is the ONLY actress capable of handling the part. Liza would prefer to see a not-so-famous, unknown actress play her mother. She thinks it would feel more realistic. And we have to agree. So far Liza has resisted meeting with Anne to discuss the movie. (Actually, Anne looks more like Liza that Judy.)

Anne Hathaway and her husband of two years, Adam Shulman, share a number of traits – among them- they coproduced her new movie Song One, and they are close to the same size. Adam is slender and Anne towers over him in heels. Our gym source informed us that Anne and Adam share a trainer who puts them both through their paces, taking turns on equipment at an LA gym. During a recent workout, Adam strained to complete his sets on an upper body machine. When it was Anne’s turn, she couldn’t help smirking as she ADDED weight with a clunk and a flourish, for HER sets on the same machine. Competitive?

We’ve often wondered why young actresses like Jennifer Lawrence who seem so natural in real life, choose to drape themselves in diamonds on the red carpet like much older women. It seems so out of character. It turns out jewelers like Chopard and Bulgari and Tiffany PAY these actresses a fortune to flaunt their jewels and sometimes they even get to keep the baubles! Page Six says Jennifer is being paid $100,000 by Chopard to wear their jewels to The Golden Globes. The only drawback is it limits their choice of dresses. Bulgari is supposedly spending $500,000 to bribe stars to wear their diamonds tonight at the Globes. But that’s nothing compared to the $750,000 that Tiffany & Co. paid Anne Hathaway when she HOSTED the Oscars. It’s STAGGERING, and everyone’s denying it – does that mean somebody’s dodging paying taxes on all this? (Keep in mind these young actresses are ALSO being paid to wear designer dresses and other accessories!)

Usually these celebrity “Frankensteins “ look distorted and creepy, but this one actually IS a beauty. However, despite all the celebrity contributions, the resulting face eerily resembles Taylor Swift – even though only the hair is actually HERS. Do men’s magazines ever do this kind of thing to create “The Perfect Man?”
