THE EXPENDABLES: TOO MUCH TESTOSTERONE?
Filed Under: Arnold Schwarzenegger > Dolph Lundgren > Jason Statham > Jet Li > Mickey Rourke > Sylvester Stallone > The Expendables
Sylvester Stallone is just finishing up his movie “The Expendables” which he wrote, directs, and stars in. (Consequently, you can expect many shots of his ripped torso.) Above, Mickey Rourke is tattooing Sly in a still from the movie. As we told you, the story is about a secret plot by several nations to overthrow a dangerous South American dictator. The best mercenaries from around the world are hired to do the deed and they are played by tough guys Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, and Jet Li, among others. Bruce Willis is also in the film and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is supposedly making a surprise appearance. It’s an 80’s style action extravaganza!

GOVERNOR SCHWARZENEGGER DOESN'T FORGET
Filed Under: Arnold Schwarzenegger > Birthday > Giuseppe Franco > Hair!

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is loyal to his old friends. And no one’s happier about that than his hairdresser of over twenty years, Giuseppe Franco. Giuseppe’s shop was buried behind Cafe Roma on Canon Drive for years, and now he’s moved up to the choice location facing the street with his chairs in huge windows – although why anyone would want to sit in the window with foil on their head is a mystery. Arnold certainly gets his hair done in a very private room somewhere in the back. And despite comments about Arnold’s slightly unnatural hair color, Giuseppe remains a close friend. The Guv didn’t forget his pal’s birthday – he brought him an autographed photo of them together inscribed “to my best looking friend.” Sweet.

STALLONE'S THE BOSS ON THE EXPENDABLES
Filed Under: 50 Cent > Arnold Schwarzenegger > Dolph Lundgren > Eric Roberts > Jason Statham > Jet Li > Mickey Rourke > Sylvester Stallone > The Expendables

Sylvester Stallone is all pumped up and ready to start filming “The Expendables” which he wrote, will star in, and direct. It’s about an international team of mercenaries whose secret mission is to assassinate an evil South American dictator. And what a cast: besides Stallone, there’s Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham, Eric Roberts, and possibly Arnold Schwarzenegger and 50 Cent. It sounds like those “Dirty Dozen”/”Magnificent Seven” movies from the 60’s.

ARNOLD CAN REST EASY – PATRICK IS NEVER ALONE

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and his15 year old son Patrick hug goodbye after spending time together in Brentwood. Patrick is getting tall – we wonder what it’s like to be in high school and have bodyguards following wherever you go. Empowering or embarrassing?

GOVERNOR SCHWARZENEGGER'S BODYGUARDS STAY IN SHAPE
Filed Under: Arnold Schwarzenegger > Bodyguards > Governor Schwarzenegger

It's funny to see a governor riding his bike along the beach, but it's even funnier to see his secret service men huffing and puffing on bikes trailing behind him. Perhaps being Arnold Schwarzenegger’s bodyguard requires special stamina. We wonder if they dress in sweats at the gym.

ANOTHER SWEET RIDE FOR THE GOVERNOR
Filed Under: Arnold Schwarzenegger > Car Culture

When Arnold Schwarzenegger gets a new toy, we like to know about it. He’s always been a collector of cars and now he’s driving – appropriately – a muscle car. It’s a Dodge Challenger SRT8. This powerful car is inspired by the popular 1970 version of the sleek Dodge Challenger (style-wise, we wish there was more of a resemblance.) The 1971 movie “Vanishing Point” turned this auto into an icon. Nice to see that the Governor appreciates retro inspired cars. – and that he’s buying American cars.

ARNOLD WANTS WHAT'S RIGHT FOR CALIFORNIA
Filed Under: Arnold Schwarzenegger > Governor Schwarzenegger > Proposition 8

He may be Governor, but Arnold Schwarzenegger still likes to hang out at his longtime favorite places – like Cafe Roma in Beverly Hills. He hung out with Sylvester Stallone there last week. They were once rivals – highly competitive action heroes – and now they’re friends. Keep in mind, Arnold is NOT supporting Proposition 8, which would ban gay marriage in California. He wants California to be a progressive state and a positive example for the rest of the country.

GOVERNOR SCHWARZENEGGER SHOPS LIKE A NORMAL PERSON
Filed Under: Arnold Schwarzenegger > Bodyguards > Shopping
Arnold Schwarzenegger and a teenage son and daughter popped into Gelson’s in Pacific Palisades on Sunday. The Governor pushed the shopping cart and told the kids which fruits to pick out. He wore loose khaki shorts and a golf shirt, plastic shoes, and looked “healthy and tan.” When they finished shopping, Arnold sent the kids to the checkout line and he closely examined pastries in the Victor Benes bakery department. (This same pastry shop has proven to be Janet Jackson’s downfall) Shoppers WERE surprised that there seemed to be absolutely no secret service bodyguards anywhere in sight.

GOVERNOR SCHWARZENEGGER'S FATHER DAUGHTER BONDING
Filed Under: Arnold Schwarzenegger > Barneys > Christina Schwarzenegger > Kids

Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger spent some quality time with his teenage daughter Christina at Barneys in Beverly Hills. Christina, who looks a lot like her mom Maria Shriver, loves the Co-op and the makeup department. Father and daughter had lunch and did some light shopping. We do have a hip governor – he and his family are often seen at Barneys.

ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER AND GIUSEPPE FRANCO IN BEVERLY HILLS
Filed Under: Arnold Schwarzenegger > Giuseppe Franco

Here’s Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger strolling in Beverly Hills, – he has an eclectic group of friends, including Giuseppe “Born to be Wild” Franco, on the left. Does anyone remember Giuseppe’s haircutting TV infomercials featuring him on a motorcycle? He’s been doing Arnold’s hair for at least 25 years. We have to admire Arnold, who has always been loyal to his old friends and associates, but we’ve never been overly fond of Giuseppe’s hair coloring technique for men.

ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER AND MARIA SHRIVER: SPLENDOR IN THE GRASS
Filed Under: Arnold Schwarzenegger > Maria Shriver

FLASHBACK: We came across this photo of bodybuilder/actor Arnold Schwarzenegger taken in Las Vegas in 1979 by Brad Elterman, and we couldn’t RESIST sharing it with you. Arnold is obviously infatuated and playfully flirting with baby-faced Maria Shriver, who looks like she just got out of college. Little did they know then, that they’d end up Governor and First Lady of California.

ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER KNOWS WHAT HE'S TALKING ABOUT
Filed Under: Arnold Schwarzenegger
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger spent Father’s Day with his two sons Christopher and Patrick. Recently he advised new immigrants in America to hasten assimilation by immersing themselves in the English language – that means not watching Spanish TV or reading Spanish newspapers. That’s how HE did it when he moved here from Austria and didn’t speak English. And it was the key to his success. The idea caused an uproar in the Spanish press, but we happen to think he’s 100% right

FIRST FAMILY

Here’s our handsome Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger at a recent function with Maria and the kids. Two fun things to note about this photo- take a close look at Maria’s shirt – is that Michelangelo with some artfully placed decoration – or is it a bodybuilder posing? Also, you can’t miss Arnold’s lookalike mini -me son hammily poking his head into the picture. SOMEBODY’S a chip off the old block.
