ELLEN DEGENERES AND PORTIA: AUSTRALIA IS BECKONING!

Is Ellen DeGeneres gearing up to say see ya to the USA, and G’day mate to Australia? Ellen and her wife Portia De Rossi just listed their Montecito, California estate for $46.5 million and according to a friend, the reason is because they are now seriously thinking of relocating (at least for the majority of the time) to Portia’s homeland. There are  a few reasons for the move – first of all, Portia wants to be closer to her family and childhood friends. Ellen’s career is all but over, so she has no work reason to stick around, and they are both fed up with the politics of the USA. Their plan is to buy a smaller place in California and a large compound/working farm in Australia (Portia loves horses) and grow old together down under. We predict they will be flipping Australian houses also…

AUSTRALIA CALLS THIS LOOK THE FUTURE OF MEN’S FASHION

We are not kidding. Australia is still celebrating because they managed to pull off their first “entirely physical” Fashion Week since early 2020. And THIS is what they consider to be the Future of Fashion. Looks more like the History of Men’s Fashion to us…

SAM WORTHINGTON : TAKING A BREAK FROM LOS ANGELES

We didn’t realize that Avatar star Sam Worthington (who looks better when he shaves) had such a pretty wife. She’s Lara Bingle, a model and TV presenter, (she and Sam are both Australian) – they got married in 2014 and have three sons. They sold their LA house and it appears they are moving back home to Australia, where Covid is less threatening now. Sam has theater work there and he is set to finish his Avatar sequels soon in New Zealand. The family of five spent a day in a park in Sydney.

AUSTRALIA IS LOADED WITH JOHN TRAVOLTA FANS

Four bombs in a row have landed John Travolta,65, on the celebrity fan-fest Comic-Con circuit in Australia. His last film, The Fanatic, failed in August, but the biggest flop of his entire career was Gotti, in 2018. Fortunately, the Grease star just had a profitable two weeks in Australia at fan conventions – charging $500 for an autographed photo or $250 for a selfie with fans. In several cities he also arranged “An Evening with John Travolta” meet and greet appearances where he talked about his career and answered audience questions. Between shows, John took his kids Ben, 8, and Ella, 19, to Featherdale Wildlife Park in Sydney to visit the animals.

FOR $200 YOU CAN ASK CHARLIE SHEEN PERSONAL QUESTIONS

Without a lot of fanfare, Charlie Sheen arrived in Melbourne ahead of his upcoming “speaking tour” in Australia. He’s following in the footsteps of Jane Fonda’s speaking tour – but her tickets started at $99 and his cheapest seats are $195, and go up to $1,495.00. Charlie has plenty to talk about – his life of overindulgence, women problems, his firing from Two and a Half Men, and his eventual confession (he says due to blackmail) that he’s HIV positive. The promoter says nothing will be off-limits during the audience Q&A, and we REALLY hope someone asks HOW he contracted HIV. We DOUBT he’ll tell the truth about THAT!

ANGELINA JOLIE AND HER FAST-GROWING BROOD

Angelina Jolie is making sure that at least four of her six kids have a good time in Sydney. She took them shopping at Berkelow Books and then for some fun at Leggo Land before heading back to Bondi Beach for some groceries at a local supermarket. Angie is very adept at making sure her nannies are not often seen in photographs of her and the children. But when you have so many children and you are SO famous, it would be impossible to go out without them. But the kids ARE growing up fast.

DID FORMER IT-GIRL PARIS HILTON THINK HER FAME WOULD LAST FOREVER?

Recently we reminded you that Paris Hilton’s fame has slipped to the level that she had to bring her own photographer to events to take her picture. What we didn’t realize is how distraught she is about that fact. She was recently in Australia for a club opening with her DJ boyfriend Afrojack and she was interviewed on the Australian morning show Sunrise. The correspondent politely asked her “What will you do when you’re not famous any more?” She answered that she’d like to have children and live a normal life. But later she started fuming and obsessing over the not-so-probing question and asked the show not to televise that portion of the interview. They refused, and she retaliated by having Sunrise cameras banned from the red carpet event and ALL future interviews with her. Touchy, touchy…

IS TAYLOR SWIFT “THE PERFECT WOMAN” AND SHE DOESN’T KNOW IT?

Photo via:BestWeekEver

Marie Claire in Australia created “The Perfect Woman” by patching together what the magazine thinks are the best facial features of various celebrities. Usually these celebrity “Frankensteins “ look distorted and creepy, but this one actually IS a beauty. However, despite all the celebrity contributions, the resulting face eerily resembles Taylor Swift – even though only the hair is actually HERS. Do men’s magazines ever do this kind of thing to create “The Perfect Man?”

IT’S ABOUT TIME: AL PACINO’S FIRST TV COMMERCIAL

It’s a big deal when Al Pacino does his first TV commercial. He finally dipped his toe in the lucrative water of advertising for an Australian coffee company, Vittoria Coffee. The company is owned by an Italian migrant family so that appealed to Al, plus he loves the coffee. Al has never been to Australia so they filmed the spot, which was directed by Barry Levinson, in his own neighborhood in New York. Of course, it will only be shown in Australia.
