You’d think that a girl raised in China would be somewhat reserved and conservative when it comes to fashion. But actress Bai Ling, 48, has no such reservations – and it hasn’t done her career much good. She blames alcohol for a lot of her bad decisions and struggled with her addiction on Celebrity Rehab with Dr Drew. Maybe it didn’t take because she turned head at Cecconi’s Sunday when she appeared for dinner dressed in THIS barely-there outfit. She’s wearing red pasties under her sheer top.

LIONEL RICHIE IS SNEAKING AROUND ALL NIGHT LONG WITH BAI LING

Lionel Richie pairing up with the irrepressible Bai Ling seems to be on the money. They definitely rendezvoused at Whist restaurant at the Viceroy Hotel in Santa Monica for a meal, at the very least. They arrived and left in separate cars, implying that they want to keep their blossoming relationship under cover. According to a witness, they sat very close together in a booth, laughed and whispered in quiet voices, and at one point Lionel massaged Bai’s back. So SOMETHING is cooking here.

ENTREPRENEURIAL DESIGNER CAPTIVATES BAI LING WITH FREE OFFER

This could be the start of a trend. An opportunistic fashion designer followed paparazzi in Beverly Hills and when they finished shooting Bai Ling, he pulled out samples of his work in a parking lot and invited her to select a free jacket! He also had jackets intended for Paris Hilton and Benji Madden. Naturally he assumes they’ll be photographed in his designs. Not a bad way to publicize one’s merchandise.

Bai Ling Emmys Lisa Edelstein

L.A. CONFIDENTIAL

Left: Here’s Lisa Edelstein (she plays Dr Lisa Cuddy, the hospital administrator on House) and her mom at the L.A Confidential pre-Emmy party at The Cabana Club. She’s WAY more glamorous in person than her TV character. Lisa and her family just got back from a vacation in Israel visiting relatives and she was surprised and flattered when papparrazi picked up her scent there and followed her everywhere. Her family was very impressed!

Right: At the same party I started pondering “Are all the photogenic darlings in Hollywood getting record deals these days? First Paris, followed by Nicole Richie, of course, and now Bai Ling. Bai introduced her record producer named Poet (left in photo) and he told me the music she’s recording is “rather goth , almost spoken word- like Portishead.”
I don’t’ care what those mags say – I get a huge kick out of the way Bai Ling dresses. She livens up every party.
