Former President Barack Obama wants his daughter Malia to get hypnotized. The 25-year-old former First Daughter was photographed smoking a cigarette while running errands in Los Angeles, and her father wasn’t happy. Barack struggled for years with his addiction to cigarettes and finally kicked the habit, thanks to a pricey hypnotist recommended by none other than Oprah Winfrey. According to our source, Barack offered to shell out the $25,000 if Malia agrees to get hypnotized to stop smoking, but she has not taken her father up on the offer…yet

MALIA OBAMA INHERITED A BAD HABIT

Malia Obama, 23, is fitting right in to the Los Angeles lifestyle. She was spotted deep in conversation with a male companion at Alfred Coffee in West Hollywood. The Harvard grad probably had little difficulty getting her new writing job for a project at Amazon. She always loved filmmaking and interned at the notorious Weinstein Co in 2017. Remember when she confronted her dad after catching him smoking in the White House? She was worried about his health. Ironically, it seems she picked up his bad habit – and has been seen smoking herself for a few years – now she’s the one taking smoke breaks at work.

HOW ABOUT A SELFIE WITH THE FORMER FIRST COUPLE – AND SOME PIZZA?

Some businesses have responded to Covid-19’s unforeseen circumstances with a sense of humor and it’s a welcome relief. Grimaldi’s pizza restaurant in Chelsea in New York has a pair of ceramic statures of Barack and Michelle Obama (wearing masks, of course) seated at a table by their entrance. So far the restaurant is only open for take out and delivery, but they found an entertaining way to remind everyone to mask and keep their distance. Passers-by can stop and safely take a selfie with the famous couple!

Apparently Madonna expected to be deafened by loud cheers when she told her concert audience in New Orleans to vote for Obama. Imagine her surprise when she was heartily booed – and some of her audience even walked out! Maybe some were Romney fans, but we bet a lot of the crowd just didn’t want to hear about Madonna’s political choices and resented her telling them how to vote. Most of Madonna’s fans are no longer impressionable kids and as adults they want to hear her sing – not vent her politics. Will she ever wise up?

NO LOVE LOST BETWEEN MICHELLE OBAMA AND OPRAH

Both Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey are bound to be INFURIATED by a new book coming out that’s documenting the bad blood between them. Author Edward Klein pointed out in “The Amateur” that after Oprah publicly endorsed Obama on her show, she expected VIP treatment in the White House. Obama himself was affable and strategized with Oprah, but Michelle was increasingly standoffish. Michelle had an assistant return Oprah’s calls, and kept a close eye on her husband. Privately she seemed to think Oprah wanted to use her white House ties to promote herself and perk up her ratings. The final blow came when Michelle implied that Oprah was too hefty and inappropriate to join her battle against childhood obesity. Despite Michelle, Oprah remains a huge supporter of Obama.

Scarlett Johansson’s twin brother Hunter (he’s 6’3”) keeps getting better looking. He started off acting with his 27 year old twin sister but drifted instead into local then national, politics. He was a campaign organizer for Barack Obama and People named him a “Hot Bachelor.” Hunter says his sister often fixes him up with nice girls and he reciprocated by introducing her to the President.

CNN’s Anderson Cooper was dazzled when he met the Obama family and he particularly hit it off with the First Mother–in-Law, who also lives in the White House. Recently he bought Michelle’s mother Marian a gift – a photo album – and he put several of his own photos in it for her. When he told his CNN co-anchor Erica Hill about it, she just HAD to get into the act – she coaxed him into including some photos of her too – she’s a huge Obama fan.

We think Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum is far kinder to our next president Barack Obama, than Time magazine is to him with this cover. The wax figure is a decent likeness with a pleasant aura. On the other hand, there’s something vaguely disturbing about his face on Time’s cover. He deserves better.

Obamas. They agreed to wait until they’ve settled into the White House before selecting a pet, but Oprah can’t resist campaigning for her suggestions. She’d love to see the Obamas get a cocker spaniel, but she knows the breed might aggravate Barack’s oldest daughter Malia’s allergies. So now she she’s now pushing for a Bichon Frise, which is recommended by the AKC for allergy sufferers. (Personally, we’d like to see them get a wire fox terrier!)
