The National Enquirer just kicked Barry Manilow, 71, out of the closet and we predict that after he gets over the shock, he’ll be RELIEVED! Old fashioned Barry has always been secretive about his private life and feared that female fans would abandon him if he admitted he was gay. Of course, most of Barry’s fans assumed he was gay and didn’t care. Barry married his longtime manager and the head of his production company, Garry Kief, 66, last year in a secret celebration at his Palm Springs home. They had a ceremony but didn’t file papers to make the union legal. However, they ARE wearing rings. It’s nice that Barry can finally relax and be himself.

Speaking of Las Vegas, we love Barry Manilow, but he’s definitely looking more line-free every day. We just came across this photo on Facebook. He has remarkably smooth skin for a person who started smoking at 9, and puffed 3 packs a day for decades. Now he and his band are all using electronic cigarettes.

Barry Manilow is NOT sick, according to an acquaintance of his. Since photos of him looking gaunt and frail have turned up, rumors about his health are spreading. But a friend insists that Barry, 65, is healthy and has always been thin – it’s just that he’s usually seen in a tuxedo, not casual clothes. What’s more, said the pal, “he runs on the beach in Malibu every night with his two Labs and then goes home and watches “Sex & the City” reruns.”
