BRAD PITT AND CLARK GABLE HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON

When we first saw Brad Pitt with Ana de Armas on the red carpet for the Marilyn Monroe movie Blonde, we thought he might be playing Clark Gable in the film. Turns out he was the producer, but it would have been good casting. There IS a resemblance and Brad is the same age Clark was when he starred in The Misfits with Marilyn. It’s rumored that Monroe contributed to Gable’s death. She kept him waiting day after day in the hot sun on location for the western, while she fretted in her dressing room. When the movie wrapped, Gable said “I’m glad this picture is finished – she damn near gave me a heart attack.” The NEXT day he DID have a heart attack, and he died ten days later at the age of 58…

ANA DE ARMAS: UNLIKELY BUT ADORABLE MARILYN MONROE

We had never heard of Ana de Armas, 34, until Ben Affleck started dating her during the pandemic. In 2019, Knives Out was released and she made quite a splash. She met Ben when they filmed Deep Water in 2020 and they seemed to spend every day together afterward until they drifted apart in 2021. It was quite an accomplishment when this Cuban/Spanish actress was cast to play Marilyn Monroe in the Netflix feature Blonde, described as a “psychological drama.” Certainly it was easier for her to LOOK like Marilyn than to imitate her breathy American accent. The movie’s director says he aims to show what it felt like to BE Marilyn. Ana posted the above photo from the film – Bobby Cannavale plays her husband, the baseball star Joe DiMaggio.

Billie Eilish Blonde Fashion Hair! Haters

BILLIE EILISH: STOP PAYING ATTENTION TO HATERS!

Just as we were growing pleasantly accustomed to Billie Eilish’s blonde hair and fewer layers of clothing, she snapped back into her old look! Yesterday she turned up at the Variety Music Hitmakers Brunch looking like her original punkish self. Which isn’t BAD, of course, but she seems self-conscious and too covered up for a cute young girl. Her UK Vogue cover in June debuted a “new” Billie in platinum hair and a peach corset, looking uncharacteristically voluptuous. The internet went wild- many fans LOVED her look, but that nasty online element is always there to trash people. Billie declared “The more successful you are – the more people HATE you!” and now she’s brunette again and wearing oversize clothes. Hopefully she will not be afraid to further experiment with her looks…

MARGOT ROBBIE DOESN’T NEED BLONDE HAIR TO BE A BOMBSHELL

Margot Robbie has been the “hot blonde” in Hollywood for quite awhile now, but she has no fear of going back to her natural color. Fans mobbed her for autographs at the Suicide Squad 2 premier this week – her platinum blond character Harley Quinn, described as “a criminal psychiatrist turned homicidal moll” has appeared in 3 movies so far. In this latest version, Harley is “dating” and, of course, looking for love in all the wrong places. Margot’s hair won’t be brown for long- she’s set to do a live-action Barbie film written by Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach.

We didn’t even RECOGNIZE Billie Eilish at first glance. Suddenly she’s a platinum blonde glamour doll! Billie has always been insecure about her looks – she wears loose fitting but stylish clothing to completely disguise her body, explaining “I’ve never felt comfortable in small clothes.” A few years ago a guy on Twitter said that she had a “mom bod” and she was crushed. Comments like that keep her covered up. She is musically powerful, but looks-wise she lacks confidence. With all those crazy hair colors – who knew she was a natural blonde? Her new color is far from natural, but it’s nice to see her asserting herself and looking attractive. Who knows? With a a little more encouragement, “small clothing” might be next…

TYLER, THE CREATOR LOOKS DECEIVINGLY INNOCENT

We aren’t that familiar with Tyler The Creator’s work, but when we saw this photo of him performing in Brixton, it aroused our curiosity. It so happens he was born in Ladera Heights, California, and has quite a reputation. Theresa May banned him from the UK for a few years because she didn’t like some of his “terrorist” lyrics. Tyler has also been called out for his misogynistic lyrics (he seems to hate women) and rape and murder fantasies. You’d never guess it from the way he looks onstage here.
