Can’t say we’re the LEAST bit surprised to hear that Bobby Brown checked into rehab. Remember he was arrested for DUI in March when he was stopped for driving while talking on his cell phone. A few months before that, we told you we got into a Beverly Hills elevator with Bobby, his then fiancée Alicia Etheridge, and their young son, (Bobby’s 6th child) and although it was only 12 noon, Bobby REEKED of alcohol. What DOES surprise us is the fact that his girlfriend Alicia MARRIED him anyway, two months ago. Why would anyone marry an apparent alcoholic? We’re surprised that she didn’t push him into rehab before the wedding. What’s wrong with these people? So far there are no details on where or how he is getting treatment.

Bobbi absolutely hopes for an acting career and she plans to start it off – not with acting classes- but with plastic surgery. Unfortunately, Bobbi inherited more of her father’s looks that those of her beautiful mother. She and her father both have gaps in their teeth and Bobbi plans to have hers corrected. She also has plans for a nose job and maybe even breast implants like her mother had.

Vanity Fair is coming out with a revealing story about Whitney Houston’s final days. For one thing, we didn’t realize that Whitney frequently read and quoted the bible. The writer interviewed video vixen Karrine Steffans, the onetime girlfriend of Bobby Brown. Karrine said Bobby always felt bad because he was accused of introducing Whitney to drugs, but she was already using them. (Bobby, we DO believe you!) Karrine also hinted that Whitney’s alleged last boyfriend, Ray J, might have been a negative influence on Whitney. She said one night she got a call from Ray J and he asked if Bobby was there. She answered yes, and Ray J smirked “Tell him I slept with both of his chicks – you, and now his wife!”

WHAT DOES BOBBY BROWN DRINK FOR BREAKFAST?

We certainly weren’t surprised to hear that Bobby Brown was arrested for a probable DUI at 12:20 PM today in Reseda, California. Readers may recall, we had an encounter with Bobby in a Beverly Hills elevator around a month ago and at 12:30 in the afternoon he REEKED of alcohol. (He was in a very good mood also) Not a lot of celebrities drink that early in the day but Bobby and Whitney both had a serious drinking problem that took a back seat to drug abuse. Driving drunk AND talking on the phone is a lethal combination and we’re glad he’s off the road.

Rihanna has heard all the speculation about WHO should star in the Whitney Houston story ( Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson, Halle Berry etc) and she’s taking steps to buy the rights of Whitney’s life for herself. She is already negotiating with Bobbi Kristina’s people and Whitney’s mom Cissy Houston because she wants to seal the deal before anyone else does. But is she really the right person to play Whitney? She has limited acting experience and this will be a dramatic role. And who will be cast to play Bobby Brown? Not Chris Brown, we hope.

DON’T BLAME BOBBY BROWN FOR WHITNEY’S DRUG PROBLEM

It’s easy to point the finger at Bobby Brown and blame him for ruining Whitney Houston’s life by introducing her to drugs. Granted, Whitney was a nice, well brought up girl when she met Bobby, but everyone assumed she was also gay. She and her live-in assistant Robyn Crawford were inseparable until Whitney met Bobby at the Soul Train Awards in 1989. Bobby had left New Edition and was only 20, while Whitney was almost six years older. He was loads of fun and had started experimenting with drugs. Whitney was immediately smitten and she enthusiastically joined him dabbling with drugs too. As the romance heated up so did their drug abuse. But Whitney was always the boss – she was in charge. They were spectacularly happy together for years, but the drugs took their toll. Public scenes of brawling and cursing became common and Whitney lost her good girl image. When they divorced in 2007, her fans hoped that with the “bad influence” of Bobby gone, she would clean up. It didn’t happen.

Today we squeezed into a crowded elevator at a Beverly Hills parking structure. As we rode up we heard a guy in the back laughing and playing with a little boy. We also smelled alcohol, and it was only 12:30 in the afternoon! As the doors opened a man a woman and a little boy got off and as the guy turned to take the child’s hand, we recognized Whitney Houston’s exhusband Bobby Brown (he was with his fiancee Alicia Etheridge and their toddler Cassius.) Bobby seemed happy and looked like a doting dad, but he did REEK of alcohol…
