Sylvester Stallone has long been somewhat obsessed with his height. His true height is somewhere between 5’8” and the 5’11” that he claims. We remember years back when he was making a movie at a film studio, and he sent someone out to look for male extras for a scene with him. It didn’t matter what they looked like – they just had to be shorter than him! Like that OTHER action star, Tom Cruise, Sly buys elevator shoes from expensive Italian shoemakers, although he IS credited with being the first actor to wear built up sneakers. So we were surprised to see this photo of Sly shopping in Rome with a couple of friends and several bodyguards who are ALL bigger than he is, in spite of his heeled cowboy boots… It also makes you wonder why Sly NEEDS bodyguards…

Shawn Mendes said that all he wanted for his 21st birthday was to take a walk in New York with his girlfriend Camila Cabello. The couple had lunch at DUMBO House members club in Brooklyn, and afterward they DID take a walk, but they weren’t alone. Apparently Shawn has a hard time going anywhere unmolested by fans, so two bodyguards (on the left in a white shirt and on the right in a black shirt) tried to be inconspicuous while paparazzi and fans surrounded the happy pair.

In the middle of her busy day in New York, The World’s Highest Paid Model (according to Forbes) Kendall Jenner, 23, popped into a deli to pick up some snacks. She bought a mango flavored Diet Coke and what appears to be Fig Newtons for sustenance. That guy next to her, who looks a little like Pharrell, is her bodyguard, and his job is not so easy. Besides occasionally carrying her shopping bags, he has to make sure no one touches his boss, so he inserts himself between her and the fans or paparazzi, who seem to appear out of nowhere…

Sunday afternoon at The Grove – especially before Christmas – is usually a mob scene, so imagine how surprised shoppers were to see Angelina Jolie and three of her six kids bouncing from store to store together! Heads turned, but the Jolie-Pitts weren’t really bothered by fans. Usually JUST out of camera range is the watchful bodyguard – but he occasionally stepped up to retrieve and carry the family’s accumulated shopping bags.

When we met Chuck Zito he was a Hell’s Angel, and now he’s going out with Pamela Anderson! Eventually he became a bodyguard for celebrities and left New York for Hollywood. He hung around with the right people and landed a role on Oz and later on Sons of Anarchy. He’s been out with Pam before but we weren’t sure if he was guarding her or dating her. Hard to tell. They LOOK like a couple leaving the Rainbow Bar & Grill, – and he’s wearing a suit. Anything is possible with Pam. She DOES look cute here….

Jennifer Lawrence was calmly signing autographs and greeting fans outside the Letterman show when the rowdy crowd got so worked up they knocked over the barrier with a loud crash. Her bodyguard didn’t waste a millisecond- he grabbed Jen and spun her around and without letting go, he carefully guided her to safety. Ah, the perils of being famous. Nobody was trampled.

Beverly Hills Housewife Brandi Glanville has been accused of indulging in xanax and alcohol to get her in the mood for challenges. And reality star Kate Gosselin surprised everyone when she was the only “celebrity” to show up with a bodyguard who never leaves her side! According to In Touch magazine, they are also sharing a hotel room and suspicions about their relationship have been confirmed. Really, why would SHE need a bodyguard – and how could she afford it?

Deep down, Heidi Klum knew it wasn’t a great idea to date her bodyguard Martin Kirsten. Now that they’ve split up, the many difficulties in their relationship become apparent. It started as a romance of convenience – Martin, 41, was great with her kids while Heidi, 40, was divorcing Seal and feeling lonely. But Martin was always Heidi’s EMPLOYEE and felt awkward in her celebrity world. How did he know if he was on or off-duty? Did Martin aspire to a better career?
