Ke$ha lost her balance in her platform shoes and nearly tumbled to her knees on a London street outside her hotel. She was returning from a radio show, not a nightclub. Fortunately she was holding onto her bodyguard at the time and he pulled her back up. Security guys do double duty now – they protect stars from aggressive fans, and make sure their clients don’t fall down in their precipitous shoes.

Jay-Z is struggling to control his popular protege Rihanna because he thinks she’s cheapening her image by partying almost every night. She’s a regular at all the hot New York clubs and thinks nothing of staying out until all night and finishing up at after hours clubs. She’s hanging out with a druggy, questionable crowd and sometimes can barely walk unaided at the end of a long evening. Jay-Z assigned one of his own bodyguards to keep an eye on Rihanna, but she knows he reports back to Jay-Z, so she deliberately loses him. Jay-Z hoped Rihanna would have a hard-working good girl image like Beyonce, but she seems to be more interested in having a good time, and he’s worried.

Guests at the luxurious Kahala Hotel in Honolulu are not ENJOYING the sight of Heidi Klum frolicking on the beach – they’re COMPLAINING about her! Heidi and Seal and their kids are making a huge production out of their stay at the fancy hotel. When the family is on the beach they have two obvious bodyguards with earpieces and fanny packs, patrolling the sand. If an innocent Japanese tourist picks up his camera to take a picture, the guards pounce and accuse him of trying to sneak photos of Heidi. The wealthy hotel guests are insulted and angry. Both Eminem and Gwen Stefani were recent visitors at the same hotel with NO fanfare and NO bodyguards.

Most of the actors on “Gossip Girl” walk around quite freely, but Taylor Momsen, 16, has these two burly bodyguards watching every step she takes. Does having a record contract and a band make her more vulnerable – or valuable – than others? The skinny actress, above, who ALWAYS has cute outfits on the show, visited the lunch table and settled for nothing but herbal tea.

Britney Spears have six new men in her life and not one of them is a photographer or a boyfriend. In case you hadn’t noticed, she is now shadowed by armed guards trained by the Israeli military. She’s shelling out $25,000 a week for the hired muscle and now her every move is watched by at least two guards, all the time. Her private security forces check out all restaurants, hair salons, even coffee shops – before she enters. (For WHAT, we can’t imagine.) Britney can boast that she has the best security in Hollywood – presumably they protect her from everything, including herself.
