Character actor Jeffrey Jones will forever be remembered for his role as Dean of Students in the John Hughes movie “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.” After that, he appeared in “Beetlejuice” and “Ed Wood” for Tim Burton. His career took a wrong turn in 2002 when he was convicted of paying a 14 year old boy to pose for sex photos. He was ordered to undergo counseling and his career unfortunately diminished after that. He’s pictured here buying Octane magazine at a Beverly Hills newsstand – he has a classic 1961 Jaguar.

Paul McCartney takes liberties when it comes to parking in LA. Not only did he parallel park his black sportscar backwards, facing traffic, but it was a red zone! He stopped to run an errand in West Hollywood and paparazzi poked fun at his “UK parking.” Paul didn’t get a ticket, but he jokingly warned photographers that if they followed him, they’d better drive safely. McCartney is in town for George Harrison’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony yesterday.

Jason Statham always checks out his $100,000 Audi after he leaves it parked in a public place. And he has a good reason. For awhile he was bitterly feuding with Justin Murdock, heir to the Dole Foods fortune, and both are car freaks, worried that their expensive toys will be “scratched.” The fight started over an underage model in a bar – Justin brags that money is more appealing to women than fame. The confrontation led to weeks of threats, a keyed car, and both guys used to call ahead to clubs to make sure the other wasn’t there. Eventually they cooled off and neither one got the girl.

Josh Duhamel is more patriotic than we realized. Despite the rain, he went shopping for a family car at an LA Ford dealership. He eyed the Ford hybrid Escape and took a white one for a test drive. Maybe he and Fergie WILL be needing a family size car soon, but we’re impressed that he’s planning to buy an American car. It’s good for the economy. We think President Obama should encourage everyone to stop being so afraid and just GO SHOPPING and support their local business people.

When Arnold Schwarzenegger gets a new toy, we like to know about it. He’s always been a collector of cars and now he’s driving – appropriately – a muscle car. It’s a Dodge Challenger SRT8. This powerful car is inspired by the popular 1970 version of the sleek Dodge Challenger (style-wise, we wish there was more of a resemblance.) The 1971 movie “Vanishing Point” turned this auto into an icon. Nice to see that the Governor appreciates retro inspired cars. – and that he’s buying American cars.

Lauren Conrad has been showing off around town in her $115,000 Audi R8 and she doesn’t mind being photographed in it. The reason is, the car isn’t really HERS. She didn’t buy it. Audi gave her the car to drive for three months free to drum up excitement and publicity for the vehicle. Actually, Don Cheadle had the car before Lauren got it. If Lauren gets photographed in the car a lot, she gets to keep it LONGER, and that’s why she’s flaunting it.

We get the distinct feeling that Patrick Dempsey is more comfortable in an auto repair shop that a hospital. He LOVES his rides. The Grey’s Anatomy doc waited patiently at Heritage Classic repair shop in Beverly Hills while his vintage grey convertible (don’t know what it is) was diagnosed with a top that refused to go up and down.

Sienna Miller just LOST IT when she couldn’t figure out how to put gas into what was probably a rented car at a Shell station in Hollywood. The guys with cameras were no help – they just kept asking her questions about her boyfriend Balthazar Getty. After shedding some tears, Sienna was rescued by this service guy who chivalrously helped her out.

Keep in mind Heidi and Seal are spokespersons for Volkswagen in Germany.

Pink’s father seems to be getting a huge kick out of his daughter’s vintage ‘59 Impala. It’s minty green with godfather whitewalls, and loaded with chrome. This is probably the car HE always dreamed of having. Pink took her parents for a ride with the top down to the beach and they had brunch at Malibu Kitchen. Nice way to spend a Sunday.

It’s Monday and many of us suffered through a prolonged rush hour, but we didn’t have the opportunity to enjoy the spectacle of Amy Winehouse caught in a traffic jam in the UK! Amy jumped out of the car to run around and ask other suffering drivers if they knew what was holding up traffic. Minutes later she darted around to other cars looking for a light for her cigarette. At least she kept the other commuters entertained.

Jamie doesn’t drive, and Casey’s been driving a flatbed pickup truck that won’t work once the baby arrives. There’s no place to put a car-seat. So the young couple has been vehicle shopping in Kentwood, Louisiana. They decided to purchase a fully loaded Chrysler Town & Country mini-van for Casey. It’s not exactly his dream car, but it’s just what the doctor ordered.
