Christina Aguilera is very excited about making her first movie “Burlesque” in which she plays a small town girl (above in white high heels) with an amazing voice who comes to LA and gets a job in a modern burlesque club. The club owner, played by Cher, takes her under her wing, and there’s a reason that it sounds like a replay of The Pussycat Dolls. The movie’s writer/director is Steve Antin who is executive producer of The Dolls, and his sister Robin Antin is choreographer. We’re betting that Jonathan Antin will do the hair. Christina actually made guest appearances with the Dolls, early on, but can she ACT?

Apparently she doesn’t mind being looked at, because this is how Cher struts through the airport – in a white cowgirl hat and boyfriend jeans. It’s not one of our favorite fashion moments, but Cher herself looks great – even if her face is tanner than her feet. Speaking of boyfriends, she WAS seen this summer in Malibu with her 24 years younger biker boyfriend Tim Medved. – so THAT might still be happening. Good for her.

CHAZ BONO IS MAKING PROGRESS IN GENDER REASSIGNMENT

This new photo of Chaz Bono was featured on RadarOnline.com and they commented on Bono’s fresh buzz cut but we noticed that he seems to be making definite progress in his gradual gender re-assignment. If we’re not mistaken, Chaz looks like he might have had surgery to remove his breasts. Chaz’s chest looks more masculine. In fact, he looks more boyish altogether. Chaz is documenting every step of the sex change ordeal in a book to be published in 2011, and we can’t wait to read it. Hopefully, he will eventually get a grip on his weight.

Cher may have cancelled a few of her Las Vegas shows over the past year but she’s psyched herself up so she can return to performing at Caesar’s Palace in September with a splashy new look. She told Bob Mackie she wants a whole new set of stage costumes. She’s tired of everything and wants to update her look. Money is no object. Mackie’s staffers are hard at work creating a new Cher and her fans might be advised to catch her show again. Above, Cher was photographed awhile back shopping at Barneys wearing her sunglasses UNDER her nose.

We can’t WAIT to find out how Cher reacted to the news that her daughter Chastity is having gender reassignment. Remember years ago, when Cher learned her daughter was gay, she became apoplectic and considered psychotherapy for Chastity, but grew to accept the notion. Nowadays having a gay kid is not such a big deal, but the REAL shocker for parents is a child who wants a sex change. No matter HOW sophisticated a parent considers himself, it is HARD to take. Chaz, as she is known now, has been taking hormones for a few months so presumably she told her mother before going public. Her publicist Howard Bragman already refers to Chaz as “he.” Back when Chastity guested on her parents’ “Sonny & Cher” show she wanted to dress up like her daddy but mom insisted on putting her in pink dresses. We last saw boyish Chaz on “Celebrity Fit Club 3″ where she lost weight but has since gained it back. This story is incredible and ground-breaking because Chastity is the FIRST female to male celebrity sex change we know of.

Cher LOVES to shop in the cosmetics department of Barneys. (The last time she visited Sephora she spent $800 on makeup – and that’s not easy.) On this visit she refused to remove her sunglasses but it was very difficult to see the products and colors through the dark lenses. Most people would push their glasses up on their head, but Cher chose to slide her shades down under her nose, thus creating a whole new look.

CHER AND HER FORMER HELLS ANGEL BOYFRIEND ARE OVER

It’s officially OVER for Cher and her former Hell’s Angel boyfriend Tim >Medvetz. On paper they SEEMED like a cool couple – he’s 6′6, 220 pounds and both have a penchant for black leather. Tim was described as “a real man who smokes Camels and drinks Jack Daniel’s.” Apparently he wasn’t all that attentive when she was performing in Las Vegas and he didn’t like waiting around backstage. He took off on a long road trip out of the country and that was that. When The Enquirer wrote that they were “getting married,” it probably freaked both of them out.

CHER'S IN LOVE WITH A HELL'S ANGEL!

Well, a FORMER Hell’s Angel, but what a great surprise – to hear that Cher is still falling for bikers! Leather guys on motorcycles have always been her weakness (business suits repel her) and now she has a burly boyfriend who’s 6′6″ and 220 pounds! He’s Tim Medvetz, 38, and he customizes Harleys in Hollywood and also happened to climb Mount Everest. Cher’s friend Richard Stark who owns Chrome Hearts, introduced them and they both have a preference for black leather and silver gothic jewelry. Tim is described as a real man who “smokes Camels and drinks Jack Daniels and eats greasy fried chicken.” On June 13, Cher and Tim were at the Foxtail Lounge with a group including Stark, but nobody realized they were a couple. The National Enquirer is already predicting marriage, but we think they’re jumping the gun. Still, we’re happy for Cher.

Cher surprised us with her voluminous copper colored wig at the Grammys- she’s probably not as skinny as she’d like to be and that’s why the hair was so big. Even more surprising was her voluptuous goth silver taffeta tiered skirt and chain mail distressed top from 80’s designer Michael Schmidt. It wasn’t her greatest fashion moment, but you have to admit she looked more like a rockstar than most of the people at the Grammys. We just wish she had sung the duet with Tina Turner instead of Beyonce.

CHER GAVE US A BIG HEALTH SCARE BUT SHE'S OKAY

We have to admit we are very relieved to hear that Cher plans to fulfill her obligation to Caesars Palace and share the stage with Bette Midler starting in May. First we heard that Cher was having special treatments for “tummy troubles.” Then we heard the unsettling news that a source had bumped into Cher in the waiting room at the UCLA Medical Center in the outpatient treatment center for cancer patients having chemotherapy. Supposedly, Cher was seen there twice with a bodyguard by her side. Since she’s gearing up to perform in May, we figure Cher was there not for treatment herself, but waiting for someone- maybe even Farrah Fawcett. And the show WILL go on in Las Vegas!

Cher is making another comeback – this time on reality TV! We’re hearing that she and her daughter Chastity are pitching a show called “Coming Out with Cher and Chas” to the networks that will feature them in their everyday lives. Certainly there will be a few tiffs about Chastity’s weight. On the show they’ll counsel young people who are afraid to tell their parents they’re gay. They’re both experienced in this area because when teenage Chas, now 38, revealed to her mother that she was gay, Cher freaked and tried to send her to a psychiatrist. It sounds like loads of fun to us, and we predict a bidding war.

Cher (seen above visiting an injured soldier in Bethesda) is cuckoo about coconuts. She fell in love with a line of creamy coconut scented products called “Burn” that Fred Segal makes in-house and sells. She buys the Burn bodywash, all the skin lotions, the soap and the candles. Recently she learned that Fred Segal was planning to discontinue the fragrance she loves. Cher called the owner and begged him NOT to drop her favorite scent. She ordered $6000 of the coconut products in advance to make it worthwhile, and she got her way.

Once upon a time, back in the 70’s before reality shows were invented, we had variety shows including the Sonny and Cher Show. We came across these photos and realized they are significant because, besides being fun to look at, both of Cher’s outfits were auctioned off last year for a lot of money. Remember, in those days Liberace was NOT gay and everyone seemed to believe the rumors that Cher had ribs removed to make her waist smaller. (She didn’t .)

SWEEPING UP THE SEQUINS
We got our hands on a catalog from the Cher auction and the owner wrote down what everything sold for. Our auction friend said that the really valuable items – antiques and paintings – went for LESS than expected and some of Cher’s really cheap costume jewelry and accessories went for a FORTUNE! Bob Mackie’s costumes and sketches brought a ton of money and sometimes the sketches sold for more than the actual costume in the picture. The black spangly thong from the Turn Back Time video started a bidding war that ended at $50,000! Her beloved Laverne outfit from the TV show went for $9000.
Cher’s Valentino sunglasses from the 80’s went for $850. Cher’s crosses went for way above market value up in the thousands of dollars for plain sterling silver. The peace sign necklace pictured was worth around $150 at best and it sold for $11,000. Somebody took Cher’s 1956 custom Ford pickup truck home for $90,000 and we bet it’ll turn up in a car show.
The highly flattering family portrait by Leroy Nieman that makes Sonny look like a Marlboro Man sold for $40,000. We can only hope the four guys in the front row at the auction who bought most of the costumes will find a way to put them on display in a museum or fashion institute where we can all appreciate them. We’d hate to see them end up as Halloween costumes.

SEQUINS AND BUGLE BEADS

The Cher auction is all anyone in LA is talking about these days. Friday through Monday all her dark gothic furniture, art, costumes, and memorabilia are on display at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and admission is FREE ! Curators told us the Bob Mackie costumes were stimulating the most interest. He had been storing them all through the years for Cher. Everything from her Laverne leopard TV outfit to the skimpy black sequin g-string she wore in the navy boat video, plus assorted sequin belly button covers from the early years were on display. Most surprising was the level of misbehavior of fans and looky-loos. The curators were afflutter trying to stop teenagers from jumping on Cher’s bed, families lounging on velvet couches, men from putting their feet up on her desk, and EVERYONE from fingering her costumes and trying to see if they’d fit. A giddy man was caught moving a form so he could stand behind it and his friend could take a picture with his head on top of a dress. Not a lot of respect – but tons of fun.
