Alexa Joel had lunch at Jacques in New York with a mystery man who’s interested in acting. He’s carrying an acting book “Play the Scene” by Michael Shulman. Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley’s daughter is now 25 years old and the singer/songwriter seems happy. In 2009, a romantic breakup caused her great distress, but she got over it and a few months later she had a nose job that she claims improved her outlook. Alexa is sporting an exotic India-inspired look today.
Christie Brinkley, 57, is currently appearing in the musical “Chicago on Broadway and she’s been great for business, packing the house every night. Whoopi Goldberg, 55, is younger and still busy on “The View,” but appears more resigned to being a grandmother by the looks of her outfit.
Alexa Joel is starting over. She packed up and moved out of her East Village apartment and didn’t look back. After her suicide attempt, she and her dad Billy Joel and mother Christie Brinkley decided that new surroundings would help Alexa put her problems behind her. She seems like a sweet but very emotional girl.
One of Alexa Joel’s problems might be the fact that she resembles her father. Unhappy Alexa, 23, the daughter of model Christie Brinkley and singer Billy Joel, took too many pills in a half hearted suicide attempt a few days ago. She had just returned from a vacation with her mother and half-siblings which might not have been much fun, according to the New York Post. Apparently Christie and Alexa are often at odds because Brinkley is so critical of Alexa’s father. The paper says that Christie makes mean comparisons between her daughter and exhusband and warned Alexa that she had her father’s genes and might become an alcoholic or overweight like him. When Alexa was ten, Christie took a bite of a brownie and spit it in the trash, saying “This is how you eat without gaining weight!” Christie isn’t the first mother to torment a daughter who reminds her of an ex-husband, but just maybe, she learned a lesson.
The drama in Christie Brinkley’s world never stops. According to the National Enquirer, her recent marriage bustup is a giant scandal. The supermodel just found out her husband of ten years, architect Peter Cook, has been cheating with his 19 year old “personal assistant.” This is Christie’s fourth failed marriage – Billy Joel is one of the exhusbands – and she has a total of three children. The Enquirer says Cook,47, met his teenage girlfriend when she was 18 and working in a toy store. He immediately hired her to work in his office and wined and dined her, promising to help her with a music career. Recently Christie and Peter were out at an event and the teen’s furious stepfather (who happens to be a cop) confronted Peter, and spilled the beans about the affair right in front of horrified Christie. Brinkley kicked the sleazeball out the next day and announced their separation.
