FRIENDS CAST IS COMMITTED TO UBER

Here’s an interesting gossip update. Back in November we told you that the cast of Friends were secretly uniting for a Super Bowl ad, but the idea got scrapped after the unexpected passing of Matthew Perry. The ad agency still liked the idea of a reunion commercial, but felt it would be too sad if the remaining cast were all featured without Matthew. After much brainstorming, they decided to tweak the reunion idea and only feature two of the remaining Friends cast – Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer. The concept got green-lit for an Uber Eats commercial and our source says expect to see the other three remaining Friends in a future Uber spot, most likely to air this spring.

Commercial Money Super Bowl Taylor Swift Travis Kelce

TAYLOR SWIFT: TWICE AS VALUABLE AS TRAVIS KELCE?

What a difference a year makes. Taylor Swift starred in a cute but hardly memorable 2023 Super Bowl commercial for Capital One, but now she’s being wooed to film ANOTHER Super Bowl commercial and this time she could shatter records for her salary. Taylor‘s boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs star player Travis Kelce has been appearing in various TV commercials for awhile. According to my source, Travis and Taylor are being wooed to star in a commercial TOGETHER, with Taylor pocketing over $10 million for the 30 second spot and Travis approximately $5 million. Neither Taylor or Travis have signed on the dotted line yet, but don’t be surprised if you see their commercial during the upcoming Super Bowl.

Advertisement Ben Affleck Commercial Dunkin' Donuts

LIFETIME COMPANIONS: BEN AFFLECK AND DUNKIN DONUTS

We have to give credit to the Dunkin Donuts company for hiring their most loyal – and probably most famous – fan, Ben Affleck, to appear in ads . They are even cleverly recreating familiar paparazzi shots through the years of Ben enjoying their coffee and donuts. After he and his wife Jennifer Garner split, Ben was photographed bringing different female companions to Dunkin Donuts, much to his dismay. We remember when he was dating Ana de Armas, she often stayed at his west side home and just about every morning a paparazzi would catch Ben fetching Dunkan Donuts treats delivered to his doorstep. Nowadays Jennifer Lopez is his Dunkin Donuts companion – his favorite drink is still “iced coffee with milk and 2 sugars- sometimes Splenda”

Commercial Jon Hamm Progressive Insurance

JON HAMM IS NO SNOB WHEN IT COMES TO COMMERCIALS

The first time we saw Jon Hamm in a Progressive Insurance commercial with Flo, we were taken aback for a minute. The Mad Men star (and now Top Gun costar) seemed like TOO BIG a celebrity to appear in those odd little ads. Turned out he’s in a whole series of the ads and he’s actually very funny playing Flo’s frustrated suitor. Supposedly he and Flo had a blind date years ago before he became a star, but she was more interested in offering insurance discounts than she was in him. Now that he’s successful, Jon tries to reconnect with Flo but she barely remembers him. While SOME actors are above it all, Jon Hamm has no problem appearing in commercials – he says he’s happy to perform anywhere…

Chase Bank Commercial HGTV Jonathan and Drew Scott Melissa McCarthy

THE MOST ANNOYING AD ON TV

HGTV’s popular twins Jonathan and Drew Scott, along with Melissa McCarthy, are currently appearing in the most hated ad on TV (for Chase banks) and it seems to be running constantly. In the commercial, Melissa is seen walking around a house, loudly smashing decorative objects on the floor while the twins watch. Viewers (including me) find the ad noisy and stupid and HATE seeing perfectly good things broken for no reason. It’s NOT funny and irritated viewers are griping all over the internet: “I like the people in the ad LESS each time I see it!” ”Is this supposed to be FUNNY?” One viewer said “Chase should FIRE their ad agency” and another responded “No – blame the stupid Chase execs who OK’d it!”

Black Commercial Halsey Paris Jackson

WHAT DO HALSEY AND PARIS JACKSON HAVE IN COMMON?

Rain or shine, Halsey is more than ready to make a few bucks selling earbuds to her fans. To be specific, she’s in New York filming a commercial for Powerbeats Pro from Beats by Dre – they retail for around $250. We still are fascinated by the fact that Halsey considers herself to be black (not unlike Paris Jackson.) Halsey’s father is half black, but you’d never know it by looking at Halsey. Growing up, she didn’t have the same experiences as an African–American, but her career is hotter than ever.

Commercial Edith Piaf Lacoste

COMMERCIAL OR WORK OF ART?

We are STUNNED every time we see this brilliant commercial for Lacoste sportswear. It’s magnificence makes Dior ads look like chopped liver. Edith Piaf sings while a young couple argue and split apart and eventually reunite with an intensity and passion beyond words. How wonderful to see special effects used for something beautiful instead of superhero movies! A French company called Megaforce created this work of art.

JULIA ROBERTS: LIVING LA DOLCE VITA

Julia Roberts signed a lucrative deal with the Italian company Calzedonia, makers of hosiery, lingerie, and beachwear. For her first TV commercial she was flown from Scotland to Paris to Florence to film scenes and all she had to do was wear their black tights. She does have the long legs to make them look good. The ads will not be seen in the US.

Commercial John Travolta Massage Masseur Scientology Sexuality

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF WHEN YOU SEE JOHN TRAVOLTA DANCING ON THE BEACH IN RIO?

If John Travolta were to film a TV commercial here in the US, just the sight of him onscreen would immediately bring 2 things to the viewers’ minds (and neither of them is the product he’d be selling.) The two things are, of course, Scientology and masseurs. John’s face would no doubt spark heated conversations about his sexuality and his religion and the advertised item would be long forgotten. Apparently Brazil has no problem with John’s baggage and he frolicked on the beach to promote some liquor there.
