Dancing With the Stars Maksim Chmerkovskiy Peta Murgatroyd

LITTLE MAKSIM – HAPPY AT LAST!

Actually the Dancing with the Stars pro is not so little – he’s 6”2” – but he seems to have finally calmed down. During his 11 seasons the show, the dancing lothario Maksim Chmerkovskiy, has been romantically linked year after year with either his partner or another pro dancer by the press, and there were never any denials. Even Kirstie Alley enjoyed a purported romance with Maks and the series appreciated every minute of the publicity. This season he’s dancing with Amber Rose and you just KNOW there would be rumors if he wasn’t “taken.” Now Maks, 36, is engaged to fellow hoofer Peta Murgatroyd, 29, and they’re expecting a baby boy in January. Hopefully, the show will survive.

RYAN LOCHTE HOPES TO DANCE HIS WAY BACK INTO OUR GOOD GRACES

The clear winner in the Ryan Lochte scandal is Dancing with the Stars. The ageing series has been losing viewers and attracting a lesser grade of “stars.” Ryan is sure to attract lots of viewers at least in the beginning. But appearing on the show IS a risk for the disgraced Olympian. If he’s a clumsy dancer and gets voted off early, it might add to the list of reasons not to like him. Even if he’s a skillful dancer, will viewers VOTE for him? Can he redeem himself? This makes for an interesting show…

BETTER THAN A TROPHY: ROBERT HERJAVEC WON KYM JOHNSON’S LOVE

We’ve said it before: never underestimate the power of dancing. Most recently we were referring to Taylor Swift’s heated dance with total stranger Tom Hiddleston at the Met Gala. She was mightily impressed with the British actor’s moves, and he soon became her boyfriend. When Shark Tank mogul Robert Herjavec appeared on Dancing With the Stars, he was immediately smitten with the skillful dance partner he was assigned to –Kym Johnson. There is no denying the physical power of a dance partnership. Most viewers doubted that Robert, 53, and Kym,39, would remain a couple after the show ended, but they did. And what a fairy tale ending: the pretty dancer married the billionaire and they will dance happily ever after…

IS KIM FIELDS TURNING INTO NENE LEAKES?

There’s a lot of NeNe Leakes in this recent photo of Kim Fields – note the blonde hair, the huge toothy smile, even the hand gesture. The former Facts of Life star has not only followed NeNe on to The Real Housewives of Atlanta, but now she’s appearing on Dancing with the Stars just like NeNe did. We think NeNe has taken note this phenomenon – she remarked that she didn’t think Kim was an “exciting” addition to the Housewives show, and NeNe admitted that Kim wouldn’t be HER choice if she were casting!

Don’t hold your breath waiting for Kym Johnson, 39, to return to Dancing with the Stars any time soon. She just caught the big fish that all the dancers dream about! Billionaire Shark Tank star Robert Herjavec 53, (he’s one of the nicer ones) has just proposed to Kym. They’ve been together since they were assigned as dance partners on the show last season. Most people figured the relationship would fizzle out like most dance floor romances. But this is for real and Kym, who’s never been married, already has a huge diamond.

Actually, the recently engaged pair could become quite the power couple in the world of dancing and we expect they will have no trouble finding work – if they stay together.

RUMER WILLIS HASN’T STOPPED DANCING SINCE SHE WON THAT TROPHY

It took us a minute to recognize this actress because the knit cap and sunglasses were distracting. It’s Rumer Willis, 27. She’s back from New York where she finished her stint as Roxie Hart in Chicago on Broadway. Taking home the trophy on Dancing with the Stars last season was the second best thing that ever happened to her. Winning Stars led to her Broadway appearance and now she’s getting lots of offers for singing and dancing roles. She’s currently filming a musical movie Hello Again, and she’s officially traded the title of “aspiring actress” for “working actress.” We’re not crazy about her look above, but she’s on her way into the West Hollywood Nine Zero One hair salon so she might come out looking better.

Rumer Wilis, 27, is living proof that Dancing with the Stars can change a contestant’s career. Before winning the dance trophy, Rumer appeared in a few forgettable movies and guested on a number of TV shows. But she admits she had no confidence. (Online haters have always been particularly cruel to her. You know who you are.) On DWTS she showed off her dancing skills and her lithe figure and she was DAZZLING. Broadway producers saw her and offered her the role of Roxie Hart in Chicago. Her Broadway dreams came true thanks to DWTS.
